To explain, I had an appointment on Thursday 25th January. It was scheduled for 2.50pm but I was still in there at close time which is appalling. If an Opticians is over-run, they should be cancelling appointments and not keeping them and wasting consumer’s time. Then the actual appointment seemed rushed as well and unfriendly. The Optometrist seemed to rush through the tests, and I actually felt rushed and flustered in myself as she seemed to quickly run through the tests not properly allowing my eyes to adjust. I presume she was rushing me because she obviously had other people to see (again instead of cancelling appointments which was what should have happened instead of keeping to their commitments. I took in 2 pairs of glass, of which she only looked at the one pair and did not even look at the other. She told me the pair of glasses she looked at was scratched. She said at the end of the test, right, so you need to go and pick a pair of glasses. I asked her twice whether my prescription had changed, and, on both occasions, she confirmed that it had a little. She also mentioned about long distance that I had a slight prescription there. I asked her this because if I had known my prescription had not changed, I would not be buying a pair of glasses and make do with what I had (the one pair which she didn’t check). I then proceeded to be sat down by another agent in the shop to measure my glasses. I mentioned what the Optometrist had said about the long distance, and she advised that I did not need them. But then when the Optometrist came out, she said that I did have a long-sighted prescription and that these needed to be tinted as I looked after dogs. This sent a red flag to me as the lady who measured me did not advise me of this. By this time, it was getting very close to 5.20pm and again I felt rushed as the lady measuring said they were closing at 5.30 and perhaps I could look at the long-sighted glasses on my return for my initial short-sighted glasses. I decided I would go back to Vision Express who I had used previously having had another bad experience with them. They had sold my husband varifocal glasses for a cataract but when we went to the GP, they advised that this was baloney. So I was not prepared to use them moving forward. They did recompense my husband to a certain degree but not to the point where I wanted to use them or even trusted them. So I thought I would go to Boots as I thought I would get a better service. If you look at the Google Reviews of Worcester Park Branch, they are not good either, but I just presumed they would be and not knowing they were a franchise trading under the Boots name. When I finally got the prescription from Vision express (a week later) because they did not have my email address down correctly even though I had spelt it out for them I saw that my prescription had not changed. I spoke to Parath Amir (the Director of Boots Worcester Park Opticians) raising my concerns and he did not acknowledge any of the poor customer service, how long I had waited to be tested, how rushed I felt, how I was mis-sold and lied to about needing a new prescription or how I have in fact actually tried to up-sell the longs-sighted prescription tinted glasses when the lady who measured me had told me I did not need them. All he said was that I signed the form and why had I taken a week to get back to them. My response was that I told them the troubles I had attaining the prescription from Vision Express due to an email error, but he did not acknowledge anything what I was saying and basically would not help me.

My Appointment was at 4.15 with my Grandson. It was a massive rush to pick him up from school at North Cheam, and to be there on time, but as it was the only appointment they had, I took it. and after a huge rush we managed to get there with just 2 mins to spare.!! but we needn’t have worried or bothered rushing at all !!!! The shop was completely empty apart from one member of staff who seemed slightly confused as why we were there in the first place.!! We then waited 10 mins to be approached, so I stated the obvious, we were there for a 4.15pm appointment. I was then told ( by the same woman ) it would take too long to look my details up on the computer, so quicker to fill in a form ??!!!!!! ( first time I’ve ever heard this ) Exactly 30 mins later, my grandson finally had his eyes tested. No Apologies for the waiting time whatsoever ! I found the staff to be unprofessional in their mannerism and very unfriendly. Another member of staff just stared at us, it was like we were in the wrong place !!! My grandson picked up on this and for these reasons, I won’t be going back there again.

Sadly waste of time. UNPROFESSIONAL !!! Only after your money... Would NOT recommend Boots Optician in Worcester Park.

All staff bar the optician were extremely courteous and friendly The Worcester Park store had run out of the product ( eye drops) they’d recommended. It would be helpful in the contact lens reminder text to say bring your glasses. This caused the optician to tell me off hence my asking for a call back.

The Optometrist and support staff were very patient with my elderly father.

The staff were very helpful but very SLOW in going through all the procedures (form filling, entering data on the computer system, etc.). I never thought that an eye check up would take an hour and a half of my time! Very little of which (maybe 10-15 minutes max) was spent looking at frames, because I opted to have a re-glazing of my current frames. Whilst I appreciated the care, I did not appreciate investing that long on the appointment - people run busy lives.

All staff were very helpful. Optometrist with eye check and the lady who served me in the branch was very kind and helpful.

The appointment was for a 7 yr old and the optician I thought was sympathetic and appropriate for the age of my child who had not been to the opticians before so it could have been scary. My child responded well and did not seemed too frightened by the equipment. The test seemed thorough enough and thankfully no action needs to be taken apart from another test in a year.
