Our appointment was booked for 3:15 yet we weren't seen until 4:20. No one offered any explanation or apology. I asked when we were likely to be seen at around 3:45 and we're told 'soon' and after asking again they had had an 'incident' with 'someone' earlier which had set them back. Once my daughter began her eye exam everything was fine. The optometrist was friendly and thorough. Once we came out she led us to one of the desks in the main shop. No one approached us for 10 or more minutes until I asked if we were going to be seen soon. Staff were standing around and the shop was almost empty (apart from the other customers still waiting to be seen for their eye exam). My daughter requires coloured lenses which need to be made by an external company. So, since her prescription has changed, we made the decision that we would have the coloured lenses put in the new frames and the clear lenses in her old ones. Despite the £40 price tag on the frames she chose I was advised that the cost would be £75. When I asked "if we were getting the standard lenses in the new frames it would be £40, why is it £75?". As we were only getting one set of frames and one set of lenses. I still don't understand why we were charged £75 but my daughter was starting to feel ill (the reason for needing the coloured lenses is part of her condition - artificial light gives her horrific migraines). Not happy at all at the service this time. We have always been very happy and have been coming to wetherby boots for a long time.

Wetherby Boots opticians has been the best I've been to in a long time . Given honest feedback on your eyesight is something I've not had in years . Others just want to sell you extras you don't need and give poor advice and wrong prescriptions but not at Wetherbys Boots opticians thank you for the honest information

The test was very detailed and I felt like my problem was sorted out and explained clearly one member of staff did make me feel a bit rubbish about being on universal credit when I was signing forms but all other staff where friendly and attentive

I had to do the field of vision test twice as it appeared the member of staff struggled to use the machine- not ideal with a toddler in tow
