Boots Opticians York - Clifton Moor

I was really helped by Lily., Liane and Michelle who were very patient and helped me choose my glasses.

The Boots Clifton Moor York branch was busy but I was quickley dealt with in a friendly manner. Sahel explained the procedure clearly as my eye test was done and afterwards Jo was helpful in offering a choice of options.

I changed back to Boots Opticians as previously I'd had excellent service in the past. I went in July 2017. I spent over £300 for verifocals in which their customer service was good. The after care was really bad and the quality of the glasses were poor compared to my last visit with Boots. As the nose pads were rubbing against my skin (I still have a raise mark) I went back 5-6 times to ask them to either alter them or change them, which I paid £14 for a hypoallergic pair and within 6 months they had come away from my glasses. I ended up asking in a well known supermarket and they fitted them with small circular pads which are great - why wasn't that offered to me by Boots! Now within the last month the coloured coating on the glasses is coming off which consequently is now starting to rub on my skin. Nothing can be done because they are out of the year guarantee. I changed from another well know opticians to go back to Boots as I had excellent service with them previously and the glasses are still in 1st class condition after a long time even though my eye sight has changed. Unfortunately I won't be going back to Boots Opticians again! I was very disappointed.

Excellent reception and speedy service at a good price. However, the first optometrist prescribed strong reading glasses and distance glasses for driving. On discovering that both were not usable, a second eye test by a different optometrist resulted in there being no reason at all for distance glasses. The first reading glasses were only usable if reading matter was held 3" from my eyes. Happily, the outstanding manager, Sven put things right.

He was called Mash / Mosh and I had a contact lense check as well as a sight check. He was a stand in as someone had called in sick I was informed at each stage by a girl I think called Lisa. I also purchased glasses and that was a positive experience too. Very helpful - thank you
