Boots Opticians Taunton - High Street

Boots optician dept is vastly understaffed. Every visit there meant waiting much longer than any other opticians I have visited. When my glasses proved to be virtually unusesable after only 6 weeks, and I went in and enquired about this (again, after a long wait) I was told I would have to pay for another eye test. Would never use Boots again or recommend going there to anyone I know. It was the first time I tried them, never again!

My mother has been waiting for new glasses from a well know establishment that sells cheaper options on the high street but this has taken 6 weeks so far with no explanation of why her glasses are not ready for collection other than quality control. She asked for a refund last week but was told no just wait another 3-4 days. I went in with her at the weekend, still no glasses but a refund was given. We went to Boots to see what they had for choice and was greeted by Daniel who was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Just to make sure he had made the right choices he enlisted the help of both Matt and Ben who were equally as helpful. We did explain that we had just had a bad experience but this was quite late in the consultation so hats off to all 3 chaps for being helpful without knowing. Mum is coming in for a retest to check her prescription before purchasing and she is looking forward to it. Thank you to Matt, Ben but especially Daniel for making my elderly parent feel special.

I would like to thank Stephanie for helping me out with my glasses. She even recommended me a contactlens appointment to try and I must say, she has been the only one who had spoken to me about it as I figured contactlenses were too difficult for me too put in my old eyes. Even when trying to find glasses, she recommended polarized lenses. She gave an excellent service and I left the store very satisfied!

I had something in my eye and it was suggested to me that Boots Opticians may have an appointment under the ACES scheme. Unfortunately they didn't but Daniel suggested another opticians and even rang them for me to enquiry if they had one for that afternoon. He was extremely helpful.

Excellent service with very friendly staff

Polite & helpful staff who told us that appointments were running late but that they'd be with us asap. Thorough notes on my previous appointments meant the optometrist could check my history quickly & easily. Great to be able to book my appointment online but it would have been better if I'd received a conformation email about the time & date of my appointment.

Everything was fine until I collected glasses then was unable to see through them clearly at all which was a huge dissapointment and completely inconvenient as now I have to go back to get the problem rectified as the glasses purchased are completely unusable. A complete waste of my time so far...extremely unhappy as these were not a cheap pair of glasses.

I would like to say that Dan was extremely helpful following the mishap with my glasses. After discussing the options, I was able to make an informed decision about the way ahead. Each time i went in Dan was understanding and took time to make sure my glasses were right for me.

I had a good experience with Boots Opticians. I've been to Specsavers before but wasn't satisfied. The staff was very friendly and I want to give out special thanks to Luke and Stephanie for helping me pick out my varifocals. I think these two definitely deserve kudos.
