Why do Boots not answere the phone or let you into the shop without an appointment. I have just received new glasses and they are too tight and huring me. WHAT CAN I DO

I wanted 2 appointments for my daughters together but it was not possible so I had 2 separate appointment, 2 weeks apart. This first appoitment with my elder daughter went well. But my 2nd appoitment with my younger daughter I noticed the lack of customer service as the employees seemed un trained. I was given a date for 27th of March to come back and to pick up my daughters glasses. The date had been after the announced lockdown. I made my way to the appoitment as I had not received a tx or call to say it's been cancelled. When i got there the store was closed and a representative advised me that my daughters glasses had been ordered and will be delivered out today. I was upset that I had to come out whilst in isolation and no one bothered to call me and let me not to attend. 2 weeks later I called the office to ask why I have still not received the glasses and the rude rep named Izzy said they will be delivered within 3 weeks. I asked why have they been messing me around as I had a call advising me they were going to be sent out for delivery on that day 2 weeks back. The rep looked at the screen and had me on hold for 15mins then came back and just said there are delays and didnt know what else to say! I asked to speak to her manager as her response was not acceptable and the rep had rudely put the phone down on me. "How rude"... Overall service poor and rude

I called into the branch as I was experiencing problems with my eye. Despite me not using Boots Opticians before, when I explained my problem they pulled out the stops to get me an appointment. They explained there may be a charge but I was happy to accept that. The Optician was superb, he thoroughly checked my eyes and then added eye drops to enlarge my pupils. He sent me off for an hour and was waiting for me on my return. He examined my eyes and then told me calmly and professionally that there was a problem with my retina and that I needed to go to the eye hospital (he obviously went into detail as to the problem). The branch even phoned a taxi to take me there. Before leaving I asked how much I owed for the consultation, the staff including the optician just smiled and said, no charge - we just hope that you get sorted at the hospital. I was so touched at their empathy and the fact that they are empowered to deliver such wonderful customer excellence. And to put the icing on the cake, two days later the optician phoned me to check how it went at the hospital. I’m absolutely blown away by the man. Would I recommend this branch - without fail, second to none!

Extremely caring, diligent and kind. I didn't feel rushed or under pressure. I was given plenty of time to ask questions. I felt relaxed and at ease I had complete confidence in my optometrist, she was very efficient and professional

My appointment was at 9.25 in the morning and I arrived in time for the appointment and was asking to wait around the corner. However when it reached 9.45 and I had not been called in for my appointment I said something to one of the staff. While I accept that people can overrun I would not expect a 20 wait first thing in the morning especially when I have to get back to work etc. Also I had gone for a contract lense check and the opticians advised that the type of lenses I had currently were no longer going to be available. She then went on to advise that they now did lenses to correct my astigmatism and spent some time on this only to then say oh it does not go up to your prescription. This is fine and it is what it is but I would expect the optician to have checked the options before mentioning to me and to now waste time on something that is not suitable for me. Thanks

For me it would have been easier to have the pressure test done after the counting stars test as one of my eyes in particular was affected by the pressure test and it made focusing difficult.
