Boots Opticians Maidenhead - High Street (in Boots)

Had very good service 18 months ago from Harmeet and Dominique so asked to see the same staff. I have a job that demands perfect near vision and hobbies that need good distant vision and Harmeet was very patient sorting out the best vision possible. I found my first varifocals very easy to get used to. Dominique and Kayleigh could not have been more helpful, making sure the frames fitted properly, looked good and had the varifocal element properly fitted.

I was greeted by a lady who was miserable and didn't smile (short, long dark hair, dark skin) - never a good start! They were late starting - no surprise - I tell you every visit. There was no suggestion to resolve my issue (no lenses to take on holiday).. Just told me we have no lenses.. Oh I said, Marlow get them to me next day if they need to. So then they said they'd call Marlow. I said I'd do it myself. No link of systems between by primary branch. Not able to take payments on the phone and best of all I you have suspended my Rewards Scheme - apparently you posted me letters! errr really! I would have thought a courtesy phone call to make a LOYAL and LONG STANDING customer aware of what was about to happen. Or text message or email.. Clearly, my experience of Boots Opticians is declining rapidly.

we arrived to be told that the appointments were running 45 mins late. the machines for the eye tests were wiped with a very strong disinfectant that wasnt wiped afterwards and myself and one of my daughters skin reacted to the chemicals in it, we obviously know it is essential to be hygienic but this strong chemical needs a quick wipe off with a clean cloth, rather than direct contact with your skin. The machine with the hot air balloon froze, so i had to repeat that test. i was then told that although i had a letter telling me that i needed to come in for an appointment i actually wasnt due for one until february 2018 so i couldnt have a free eye test, my father has glaucoma. so i came out then the lady in reception said i could have a free one because i was on the reward scheme, by that time i had lost faith a bit and was obviously way later that i should have been, and already had plans for the rest of the day.

I was very pleasantly surprised today's appointment here. The Boots I normally use is fine, but the Maidenhead branch far exceeded any of my other experiences. The eye test started ahead of schedule, as I was a few minutes early and other customers hadn't showed up, and all four members of staff I came into contact with were, without exception, professional, friendly, efficient and knew their field well! When I mentioned in passing that I should really have also booked a contact lens appointment as well as an eye test, as if by magic, it was arranged for one to be carried out immediately afterwards. There was no waiting around and staff all took great care of me, even arranging the transfer of my records to the Maidenhead branch and a further appointment in a week's time. I'm seriously impressed! Thank you Boots Maidenhead Opticians!
