great service by Tina and David helping me out when I ran short of lens solution

10th August 2018

I agree with the last review. I was given this survey details two years ago when I last attended and left a glowing review, this time I must vent my anger I attended my appointment, only to be told Mr Patel had decided to leave a year ago and finally left six months ago. The staff were unhelpful, they could not understand that I was there for my eye health check and not to buy glasses and how would they like it if they lost their long-term dentist? As I had a red eye, I saw the optician who informed that Mr Patel replacement had left already! I was given some eye drops which made no difference. I went to see my GP who recommended I see Mr Patel-AT HIS NEW PRACTICE!. I saw him last week in St. John's Wood and he diagnosed and treated my eyes on the spot which has problem solved and he noted very early Nerve loss with his 4D OCT machine. His equipment is light years ahead of Boots and not all opticians are the same-see him once and you wont go elsewhere

I totally agree with the customer review made on 16th February 2018. I was a customer of D&A prior to Boots taking over, and I have noticed and experienced the service has gone downhill since the 'big boys' have taken over!! I also agree that Sachin Patel was a great optometrist and it is a shame he no longer works there. And it was a shame we were not informed/ advised by the practice that he has left... as I would have looked for another optometrist. I am very disappointed with the service provided by this practice - I absolutely no level of care provided that is expected from an optometry practice... I have complained to Boots Head office - they need to provide training to staff (especially where communication between optometrist, locum optometrists and floor staff is concerned), and upgrade the system for efficiency and better service!!

* THANK YOU DANNI AND PARUL! * I just wanted to drop a line to sincerely thank Boots Wigmore Street for their help and service - in particular 2 members of their staff; Danni and Parul. I wanted to treat my mum with some Burberry reading glasses as a surprise gift - but buying glasses is subjective and personal. I must have spent nearly an hour with Danni and Parul who were unbelievably helpful and kind in helping me with potential options in trying to make the surprise happen. They couldn't have done more to assist. In the end, my mum came to the store in person and again - they were absolutely wonderful and made the experience such a special and memorable one for my mum. She adores the glasses and they made her Christmas! So this is just a small note to say a BIG THANK YOU to DANNI AND PARUL! Expert knowledge and friendly service - what more couldn't ask for more! Thank you again and see you soon (I'm going to get my eyes tested with you) Mark

My experience of Boots was appalling. The eye test was satisfactory but when I went through the process of choosing frames the staff were disinterested and in fact the person serving me went to another customer half way through the process. My frames and lenses were expensive and I have second thoughts the next day and returned to the shop to consider other frames but was told that between leaving in the evening and returning in the morning the lenses had been cut so I couldn't change, I find this more than surprising. I then heard nothing for over a month and ran up to enquire to be told that they do not inform you of when the glasses are ready, and in the shop. They were ordered on the 2nd March, and had been in store from the 10th March, but I only found out on the 3rd April when I chased them up. All in all terrible customer service, unhelpful staff and not a good experience.

The optometrist, Kate, was friendly, thorough and very efficient. The selling assistant less so and the computer system slow (not her fault). But she led me to believe I could use my voucher until my order was in the system, then told me that my order was not eligible.

A fantastic team lead by David Marshall, Practice Manager, who was extremely helpful and personable. I have 100% trust and faith in him. Professional, understanding and unusually great customer service. Highly recommend.

I have been a customer of this opticians on Wigmore Street for many years. Originally Dollond & Aitchison, it was acquired by Boots a few years ago. My original Optician, Sachin Patel was an amazing and thorough practitioner. When I made my appointment last week for my contact lens check and eye examination, I booked in with Sachin to arrive and find out he left several months ago! The person conducting my contact lens check and eye exam was Komal Patel and although she was nice, she was not half as thorough as her predecessor. There was no visual field test and absolutely no proper check of my vision itself! The main vision test was having my eye covered, asking which line I could read clearly (I said bottom) and then that eye was covered and she moved onto my other eye. Since when does an eye examiner not ask the patient to read the letters to ensure accuracy?!?!?! Was that C? G? O? I'll never know for sure... I called Boots customer service to advise them of this situation and they apologised for the poor service but didn't even offer a re-test. Its a shame, this was a good opticians (as D&A / when Sachin was there) but I'll be changing shop with immediate effect.

I was informed the optometrist was running 10 minutes late. at 20 minutes after my appointment time was told they would be another 5 minutes. after waiting for 30 minutes for a booked appointment and still no sign of optometrist I had to leave to return to work. could have phoned me prior to appointment to let me know running late and could have been better at estimating how long I would actually have to wait rather than just making it up.
