I was a little surprised to find that having has special photos taken of the backs of my eyes as part of tbe test I wasnt then at least offered the chance to view the images if not actually being given a copy givin I know I personally would have found this particularly interesting and fully anticipated it would be part of the experience.

Yes, I had everything explained to me very clearly and all my questions were answered. Ms Ganatra did not rush me through the consultation. I felt that she wanted to be sure that she had exactly the correct prescription for me. I felt that I was being gently pressurised by the salesman to take higher specification lenses - non smear, UV etc than I needed. I'm quite resistant to spending more than is necessary but I have a concern for others and would warn them about this.

The optometrist knew of my history and we discussed a recent problem, for which she recommended treatment and I shall return when the issue is resolved - I hope!

My file was to hand and the optometrist checked and updated information regarding my appointments with the consultant treating my glaucoma. She also explained the changes to the vision in my left eye following my cataract operation in January this year.

On 10th March 2017 the assistant Nakita didn't offer me a choice of contact lenses, I had to requested them. She made an appointment for me to attend a training session for me to fit contact lenses to my eyes for 0920 today (11th March 2017). Today when I arrived I was asked by an assistant to sit next to a machine but no explanation was made why I had to do so, I had to ask why. She then told me to wait (for 10 minutes) but didn't explain why. She didn't introduce herself but I overheard her name (Natasha) during a phone conversation she made to a customer whilst I was waiting for her to see me. When I was seen by an Optometrist she had to ask me why I was there because the notes she was supplied with were insufficient. She was VERY helpful & after I explained my understanding of why I was there she said I was there ONLY to see if I was suitable to wear contact lenses & NOT for training as I first thought. She apologised for the error, but it wasn't her fault. She was very professional. I had to book another appointment this afternoon for training to fit contact lenses to my eyes, very inconvenient. Overall the staff are very nice but lack effective communication which results in a lack of trust from me that they are doing the right thing.

Service was good overall, the staff were friendly and I'm happy with my new glasses. However, sending me a £30 money-off voucher 17 days after my eye exam, and a week after I'd paid £270 for a new pair of glasses (the voucher was only valid at point of sale) was annoying and seemed an empty gesture. Why wasn't I given the voucher immediatly after the original eye exam when I actually could have used it? I'm not impressed with what was, basically, a pretty cynical gesture and will think twice before returning to Boots Opticians as a result.
