There is a very arrogant girl on the reception desk. She wears a jacket not the navy uniform the others wear. I was going to get new frames for my glasses but her supercilious attitude completely put me off and I left the shop to go elsewhere. She needs further training if she is to succeed in a retail establishment. Stars for the Optometrist and appointment are not applicable in this review but the site would not let me proceed without filling something in.

Found the staff untrained & amateurish. The optician was adamant I neede reading glasses even though I could read without glasses. At £500 a shot I had to pay to have 2 more 2nd opinions. Both the 2nd opinions told me that they didn’t think it necessary in their opinion & experience. This place must be a franchise given their rather pushy manner. Kept me waiting over 20 mins when I arrived on time too. Would not go again or recommend them.

Two years ago I visited and found the place to be well organised and the staff helpful and friendly. What a change now! Just shambolic. Arrived to find four assistants giggling around the till and was told that there was a problem with my appointment - could I reorganise or come back half an hour later? I chose to come back and wish I hadn't. The optician spent most of her time looking on her screen and talking to me with her back to me so that I couldn't hear her. When I asked her not to do this she said she had to "as I have damaged my finger" (huh??) Don't know her name as she didn't introduce herself, smile, or make me welcome in any way. Won't go back and not surprised there were hardly any other customers in the shop

The experience was not palatable, I collected my glasses and the same day I wore them they broke, I have had my current glasses for over 2and a half year and I am still wearing them, what I was recommended was to get some varifocals as my prescription had changed. However the glasses I collected from boots was not compatible with working at my monitor at work. I am currently wearing the old one which is a whole lot better than the one I had collected from boots. I returned the glasses and an appointment was made for me for the following week. the following week I went to keep the appointment and a man plonked a pair of "tester glasses" down on my face and I felt very uncomfortable as I felt he should ask me to put the glasses on and not be the one to be plonking the glass on my face and also I felt very uncomfortable as he invaded my space where I was sitting. the whole experience was distasteful. he told me the glasses would be ready after about a week and I returned to collect the glasses but it was not ready and the same man was at the counter and I asked for my glasses and with a smirk on his face he said he sent it off but it has not returned. It was a pair of glasses that the Council had given vouchers so it could be ready for Council staff who need these glasses for the monitor to have available for the. However Boots have failed to provide a proper and conscientious service for myself a diligent council employee and I felt somehow violated by the whole experience.

I was not given a copy of my prescription. How come these reading glasses cost almost twice as much as my previous pair, from elsewhere, of varifocals?!

Service was of a high standard. My only minor complaint would be that my prescription wasn't provided so I had to go back to get it when I remembered.

I visited Boots Opticians in St Anne's Road Harrow. Everyone I saw was extremely helpful (and friendly) and the service I received was excellent.
