Optician fine, shop staff rude. 1 particular male assistant has always had an attitude but my last encounter was him telephoning me about an old prescription, us getting cut off (I was travelling) and him leaving an outrageously rude voicemail instead. Reported to shop manager and not even an acknowledgement. Very disappointing. I recommend Boots opticians generally but clearly no standards apply beyond the trained optometrists. Appalling. I’ve been a customer at this branch over 10 years but won’t be back

Fab service was told exactly what was going on with my eyes and what I needed. When choosing glasses they gave me freedom to look by myself but also recommended frames that may suit me. And cheapest offers were given to me!!

My appointment (contact lens check up) was strange. The Optometrist (a man) was friendly/pleasant enough but I feel that the amount of notes he wrote during the appointment versus the information he told me was vastly different. He spent a long time writing notes down but then all he said to me was "I'm going to change your prescription to make your life easier". Had he indicated that this was the end of the appointment, I would have asked questions (general health of eyes, had one of my eyes deteriorated, hence the change in prescription etc. I had told him at the beginning that I couldn't see very well when I was tired and looking at a screen). I presume that because he didn't say anything to the contrary everything was fine but I didn't realise it was the end of the appointment because after the eye test he said he was going to get me some new lenses (as I hadn't brought any spares with me), we went to the front of the store where he instructed someone to get the lenses for me. He then indicated a place where I could sit to put the new lenses in. He didn't say anything else so I assumed he was coming back. After I had put the new lenses in, I sat waiting for a few minutes then he walked past me with a new customer into his room and shut the door. No goodbye, no follow up or anything. It was bizarre and left me feeling a bit dissatisfied. I would have liked to asked him questions but he did not invite this, it was very strange. I'm happy to be contacted to discuss further but only if you feel it is necessary, I don't mind either way.

They were really helpful. Alpher (think that is correct spelling) took Teds glasses straight away and tightened them up and fixed an issue he had with them. Kathryn the Optometrist was really good at putting Ted at ease and kept his attention well throughout the test which is not an easy feat!

My son Lewis aged 9 had his appointment at East Grinstead on Wednesday morning at 10.15, unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she had a great manner and explained everything so well. We were very impressed and even told the Manager! Thanks Boots!

It was a very good experience, very friendly and helpful choosing frames! Also didn't make me feel pushed to get extras but made it known they were available eg enhanced frames etc

The only reason I marked down the appointment booking was because I tried to book online but wasn't given a choice of branch to book with. I could put the day in but it displayed branches that were not in my town that could do the date. I gave up and went into the branch where it was a quick and simple process. It would be more simple to be able to choose the branch and then see availability there.
