Boots Opticians Darlington

The staff were on hand and waiting to greet you but it feels all very formal. The optometrist was efficient and professional so all in all good. Unfortunately for me I disliked the part when you're shown the range of glasses frames to choose from. There are frames ranging from £40.00 upwards., The assistant walked straight past the lower priced frames and it was straight into the £100 plus frames which felt like a need for sales. Made me feel uncomfortable and I ended up making my section quickly. A visit to the opticians can be a costly thing and for those of us dreading the cost of new glasses, it was not a great experience.

Made a double appointment for my wife and myself : the preliminaries went well until my wife needed the toilet and was amazed that in 2018 we were refused the use of the facilities and told to go to Binns or Burgerking over the road . So we cancelled and left . We would have spent about £500 so they must be doing well to refuse that kind of money COME ON ITS 2018 WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE

Cannot fault the service given by the assistants but after service was absolutely dire to say the least. I was told I would receive my glasses anywhere up to 3 weeks , after many phone calls passed this time to get an update on how much longer I was to wait to get these and getting no feedback it has now at the 8 week stage and fully frustrated

My 4 year old had been complaining of blurry vision & the Optoetrist made her feel at ease. The only criticism I had was she had difficulty in identifying the letters & as such had to identify the numbers. As a result, perhaps develop ways of testing younger children's eyes with pictures rather than letters & numbers.

Sight test for my 4 yr old daughter. First one so she was a little anxious. She was made to feel very comfortable and the optician spoke to her on her level. Would recommend.

Great service from start to finish

The lady dealing with me was distracted by another assistant and ended up helping her instead of focussed on me

Optometrist was friendly and chatty. Lady who helped me pick glasses was brilliant and gave me a good recommendation.
