Visited Boots in Bury today anticipating the usual good service I have been accustomed to. Despite being entitled to an annual free repeat eye test due to being over 60 I was told I could not have one , regardless of been a long term and loyal customer. I have gone elsewhere and will not be returning. I felt the way I was treated by the receptionist was patronising , ignorant and insulting . In comparison the welcome and assistance received at specsavers was courteous, helpful and welcoming! Appointment booked and by bye bye Boots

We went to pick up my Sons glasses today after waiting over 7 days for repair . We was told we would get a phone call when his glasses ready but we never did, which was a nightmare waiting 7 days as he couldn’t see much and fell over and hurt himself all week :( Also when we did get there we were made to wait over 1 hour for him to pick up his glasses . It seems boots change the full teams in these opticians from time to time. This team although I thought they were standard not great like boots was once known for it takes the kick out of there customers along with very high prices.

I am currently under treatment for cancer and fell and broke my glasses. Consequently, only needed temporary pair of glasses until cancer treatment wears off. Explained this to the optician and she was very understanding and thorough tests taken. The politeness and professionalism off the staff was exelent and pleasing. Thank you.

Service was really good but I was confused as there are three boots pkaces I didn't know which one to go to but overall everything was good.

It was my very first pair of varifocals and the staff were very understanding about my concerns, explained things clearly and gave me plenty of time - I took a week off to come to terms with it, and everything was all set for me when I went back the weekend after and we picked up where we left off straight away. I don't take to varifocals I can go back to ordinary lenses in the first month if at no extra charge - very fair and helped me pluck up courage to take the plunge. The staff couldn't have been more helpful.
