My wife ordered a pair of Boots glasses costing £109. She paid the bill with a debit card. Included in the price was an extra £243.23 Dispensing services. She was a bit confused about the transaction and later found out that Boots only give one hour for customers to change there mind. By this time it was too late to cancel the order. I went back to Boots the following day expecting them to say that there had been some mistake and for them to remove the £243.23 Dispensing service. No such luck. I was told that my wife had been informed of the charge at the time she ordered the glasses and that the 'services' were for measuring etc and that the charge depended on the value of the glasses. If this service lasted 10 mins (I'm being generous) Boots charge almost £1500. an hour for dispensing. I obviously pointed this out and was told by (no name given) that she did not make the rules and that I should ring the number on the receipt. This number 0345 is not a free call. My wife was not told of this rediculous rip off and nowhere in the Boots opticians area is there any information about this scandalous charge. I am contacting my MP and the local newspaper.

When I rang to make the appointment the member of staff gave me two options for times I chose one upon arrival I was told I was 40 minutes late - I explained my appointment was 12.30 ... the staff member had written the details incorrectly this included my DOB and my name .. the manager very kindly sorted it out and allow as well

I was seen to on arrival and everything explained to me. I would certainly recommend boots optician to my friends. Everyone was so nice and friendly.

The eye test was very thorough and painless,all the equipment was up to date and all The staff involved with the test were very friendly and adept at their work.
