Boots Opticians Birmingham - High Street

The health of my eyes was discussed with me thoroughly and clearly. I was also assisted well in choosing my new glasses.

Terrible service at this opticians. I had been to Spec Savers for my test and had a bad experience at Boots, this store, some years ago. I thought I would look around both Spec savers and boots for glasses s and check out the best deals. Spec Savers were real welcoming organised and helpful. Boots was dreadful. I was ignored, no one asked if they could assist me and eventually when I asked for some advice and help, I was fobbed off. The deals in boots are pretty non existent, not competitive. The attitude of the staff at the front very poor. I went back to spec savers and purchased two pairs of glasses for £268 . Something really quite not right at Boots.

The actual Optometrist was great. However, every other staff member I interacted with was unprofessional / not paying attention / discourteous. I had to repeat myself a few times as they didn't pass information along between each other, and my results were not fully recorded so they initially wanted me to do 1 or 2 of the tests again My appointment was easy to book, and they then checked I was coming via email AND text AND phone call. But... then it was then cancelled by them 30-40 mins before the appointment. My request for re-booking for the same day was made out to seem like it was a hassle for them, but at the re-arranged time there were 3-4 staff stood around doing nothing.

Awful awful experience. Rushed service, the Opometrist was even discussing another person's results with the assistant in front of me. The prescription came back wrong and they said that it was because I'd chosen the Boots standard varifocal lenses which were no good (why sell them then!?) Arrived for a second appointment and the Optometrist wasn't working that day?! I have now gone to another optician and had 'standard' varifocals which are perfectly fine. I would never go to Boots again and would not recommend this store to anyone.

How on Earth this place has 5/5? I tried to call them (to change my appointment's time) between 27th and 29th of November 2018, 3 hours each day. Nobody answered my call. Total incompetence, unprofessional behaviour: I'm switching to a different specialist...

It is simply a lack of respect. I've been calling them for 4 hours/day to change my appointment. For 3 consecutive days. Nobody picked a phone - very annoying and unprofessional - I am moving to a different optician! They will get my money!

I needed to discuss options for sunglasses and contact lenses, Marisa was extremely helpful and went through all of the options with me and helped find what was best for me. She booked me an appointment to try out some new lenses. I needed to phone back the next day as i had forgotten my appointment time, the phone was answered very quickly and Kirsten was very helpful as well. Overall a great experience!

Shocking!! Got a letter to say my eye test was due, so I the letter into Boots to make the appointment. Went to the appointment the following week-where I was asked why I had made the appointment I said because you sent me a letter - only to be told my actual appointment wasn’t due until next April —wasting my time!!!!!!!

Very friendly approach by all concerned. Didn't have to wait long. The equipment was very impressive. They were happy to spend time answering my questions.
