Boots Opticians Alnwick

Compared to the Opticians in Cyprus where I have previously had eye tests and glasses, the Boots opticians in Alnwick were not only highly professional but had excellent people skills - especially Emilie and having initially thought to take the prescription to Cyprus, we decided to have them made by Boots. Every member of staff we met on the two occasions we visited were delightful and so well informed. I cannot fault them for their expertise and friendly approach. Dr M Phillips

I have absolutely no complaints about the staff who dealt with my eye test or my requirements for changing to a new frame, my only slight concern is that my ability to be able to afford the only frame the I found that I considered suitable, despite the fact that it was not a designer type frame I felt that the price was above my budget. I am hoping that as a long standing customer who found it necessary to change to one of your competitors about two tears ago due to quite serious errors in the manufacture of new my new Zeis lenses causing them to have to be remanufactured, then when I found them still incorrect and difficult to wear I was informed that the frame I had chosen was not suitable to accomadate my type of prescription due to the lack of depth in the style of frame I had chosen. I was embarrassed having to inform the person who had be dealing with me that perhaps I should have been advised about this and advised to select a more suitable frame. Both my wife and myself had been long standing customers of Boots Optical since they took over the Alnwick branch and my wife has been wearing contact lenses and specticals for many years but we both change to another optician after my bad experience and having come back to Boots optical myself for my overdue retest I am trying to persuade her to also come back to Boots both being regular Boots pharmacy advantage card users, however I am hoping that the Manageress can help me to be able to afford the only frame that I liked especially as I have selected to have the new Zeis Individual lenses as these are quite expensive without the cost of a frame. I am currently awaiting a call from the very nice assistant who was dealing with me but said she would have to speak to her Manageress regarding the final price for the new frame. Great friendly service

Time keeping - my appointment was 11.40 but I didn't get in to see the optician until 12.10 so not very impressed as I was meeting people for lunch at 12.30 so had to keep updating them as to what time I would be there. I had a quick look for new glasses after my appointment but had to leave it as I was already late which means I will have to go back to choose. I was impressed at how thorough the eye test was and much preferred this optician to Paula who I saw there previously a few times.

Great service and very helpful. Took their time to explain things, reassured and no pressure to buy form a particular range. Thank you.

The appointment was for my 5 year old daughter, everything was explained very clearly to her and time taken to show her the pictures of the back of her eyes, which she found very interesting. Very impressed with the whole staff and how child friendly everyone was. They took time to speak directly to my daughter rather than over her head to me. Excellent, very professional and friendly welcome definitely recommend to anyone wishing to get their child's eyes tested for first time or their own. I also made an appointment for my 70 year old father who was very impressed with thorough examination.
