The surgical, anaesthetic and nursing staff were welcoming and explained every step of what would happen during the procedure and my stay at the hospital. The nursing staff were exceptional. I appreciated their care.

Consultant didn’t visit frequently enough (didn’t come for first 2 days post op and after that still didn’t come every day)
At one point I was feeling partic unwell after the procedure and the nurse was unable to get hold of the on call doctor at all - they were not answering any calls. Nurses were all kind but weren’t a substitute for doctor input.
Food : menu didn’t change for the 6 days I was in hospital. As I am vegetarian this basically meant the same meals every single day which doesn’t help recovery of appetite/ desire to eat which is necessary for post op recovery
I reacted badly to some of the meds, one nurse made the decision to give me a different anti-sickness med but this was even worse- other nurses were surprised he had chosen such a strong alternative

The care I received today at the Cleveland clinic was wonderful. From the minute I arrived the security guards, porter and registrant were polite and quick and couldn’t do more to help. I then was shown to my room which was incredibly clean and comfortable and introduced to Jezel C and Shayne who would be looking after me. Jezel C took the time and care to check on me multiple times post surgery and kindly called my emergency contact with updates, she has a really positive energy and empathy that I really appreciated. Shayne was gentle and caring when taking my observations and removing the canular from my hand and I felt very well taken care of.
