The test initially suggested verifiocal lenses might be suitable. But Terry was knowledgable about the specific requirements of my occupation as a commercial pilot. For instance clip on polarised sunglasses are not compatible with aircraft windscreens. He was able to recommend a more suitable lens with a wider field of view. An occupational lens combination, with a small long distance correction and compromise for computer screen instrumentation and document reading ( as typically needed for older pilots).

Dropped in to check whether eye test needed and given appointment within 30 minutes. All sorted within 1 hour of calling in. Small centre but friendly and efficient.

Went above and beyond to help and even stayed late to help choose glasses.

Specifically mentioned eye strain and dry eyes as a problem. No resolution given in patient management at end of the test. Had a free eye test voucher but would not be happy to pay £25 for that level of service. The optical assistant was talking about me when doing the screening saying 'she' and I thought this was rude. The equipment was also not cleaned before use - clinical practice!
