Boots Opticians Stafford - Goalgate Street

I visited Boots Optician in Stafford today as both of my pairs of glasses had broken in the last few days. I was impressed with the customer service and the positive approach to solving my problem. The young man on reception was great, he explained what he could do to fix them and immediately started to work on them. Within 15 minutes he had repaired both pairs and sent me on my way. No charge just fantastic service with an exceptional approach from this young man.

My eye test was in August, (following cataract surgery in April). I needed a prescption for reading and the optician recommended varifocals for convenience. I took his advice and ordered them, with photosensitive lenses so that they would be sunglasses too. When they came I was unable to see through them, everything circular became cylindrical, squares became oblong and everything was sloping up toward me. I returned to the shop on several occasions, Several people checked the prescription, and the measurements but kept telling me I would have to get used to it. I made a fuss and was booked in for a recheck with the optician. He ordered new lenses with a new prescription, But no better. After asking for my money back I was booked in for another re-check with a different optician yesterday. He told me that the prescription in one eye was wrong and that the height of the varifocals was wrong! Why did it take so many visits to find out??? I haven't decided yet whether to let them order more new lenses or to demand my money back! I have no confidence in them but when I asked for a full refund I was told they didn't do that! I cannot reccommend them to anyone, in fact I would warn people against going there after my experience. It is at least 2 months since I first received the glasses which I wanted as sun glasses for my holiday! Now end of October, you have had my money for 2 months but I still don't have any glasses I can use.

Stafford staff are all excellent . I was treated extremely well and with good humour when appropriate. The optician gave me good advice and the manager helped me choose two pairs of glasses . She knows exactly what to suggest.

My appointment was for an eye test and diabetic screwing, I have had an annual appointment for the past ten years and have always been satisfied with the treatment I have received. This has improved over the last few years since Lee has been my optometrist, I am always seen promptly with no waiting between the different aspects of my test, he is always very helpful and considerate.

Lee is a wonderful person. Makes you feel at ease etc! Very very helpful
