My wife and I attended today for routine eye tests.Hannah and staff were excellent carrying out thorough tests and explaining the reasons for all the procedures throughout the tests .There was not any pressure to purchase spectacles after the test the staff just gave good advice and explained the offers available.My wife purchased two pairs of spectacles.

I had the most dreadful experience at Boots Opticians Skipton branch today. They were mean to me..yes, mean. Seriously ! My late Mother & her Mother both had glaucoma & I was advised to visit the optician as I should have my eyes checked. I was advised that the test would be free as both my Mother & her Mother had the condition.The women in this store did not help me at all telling me to go online and fill a form out & if I wanted a test it would be £25. Three members of staff at the counter in this store no customers I could see, they were very unhelpful and made me feel horrid. I was going to go home after this terrible experience but my husband persuaded me to try Vision Express, what a difference! The staff at Vision Express were very kind to me & I did have a thorough eye test today, free of charge and I did buy glasses from Vision Express today, my experience was very good the complete opposite to what I had experienced at Boots earlier today. I will never shop at Boots again & I will ensure all family & friends/neighbours/colleagues are fully informed of this terrible experience I had in your store. Unforgivable way to treat anyone. Vision Express I cannot thank you enough what a credit to your profession. Highly recommend anyone to visit Vision Express & they are dog friendly too ! They even asked me to come back in 12 months for another free eye test, a great end to what started out as a dreadful day :)

APPOINTMENT WAS FOR A CONTACT LENS CHECK. COULD HAVE BEEN SUGGESTED TO ME THAT TO CHANGE TO REUSABLE LENS WOULD BE MUCH CHEAPER THAN THE DAILIES THAT I HAVE BEEN USING SINCE I STARTED USING CONTACT LENS. ACTUALLY SUGGESTED THIS MYSELF - SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED EARLIER!!!

I am on a very limited income, it was a hot stormy day & I would have preferred to do anything rather than have my eyes tested & spend time & money on 2 pairs of spectacles. However, my appointment was on time & was reassured throughout the examination, all aspects were explained to me & I began to settle to the procedure. I was spoken to in a kind & professional manner I collected my spectacles at the time & date planned. I also had a small discount due to me & Boots reward points. Thank you Hannah, John & Terri

My husband and I attended Boots Opticians, Skipton for eye-tests and new spectacles. All staff were courteous, helpful and professional. Heather Spencer (Optometrist) was thorough in her explanations and her manner gave confidence in her advice. All members of staff had a pleasant manner: in particular, Sophie and Maryyam were patient and well informed when it came to choosing frames and fitting our new spectacles.

I have thought long and hard about leaving this review but I think it is an important point for you to consider. The Boots 'shop' staff were great, engaged with me and spent time helping me to choose frames. However, my reservations were about the optician herself. She told name was Chris and that she was "here today to carry out my eye test". She was polite but robotic. It was almost as if she was just going through her 'spiel' containing a tick list of questions/statements and any responses I gave were met with the same 'sing song' patronising response. Her delivery left an awful lot to be desired. I now have my glasses and cannot fault the prescription in any way - they are perfect so she obviously is good at her job but, and it is a BIG but, I will think long and hard about coming back to Boots. I don't want to be spoken to like an idiot. I don't want to be addressed in a 'sing song' patriotic manner, and I definitely do not want someone to go through any documentation with me as if I do not have a brain cell. I appreciate that some customers may need to be walked through the process in this manner, but I am not one of them and if Chris had taken the time to look at me, listen to me, treat me as an individual or deviate from her script she might have realised that.
