I regularly had my eye test at Boots Rayleigh for many years but after the service today I will be taking my custom elsewhere. Firstly was rushed through the pre-check I think because the guy wanted to get back to chatting to his colleague and obviously I was an inconvenience. Then there was a different optician to the one I have seen in previous years and sadly he lacked any customer care and in fact I found him to be very obnoxious. All he wanted to do was upsell to their new enhanced eye test which was another £25 and then he slated the glasses I did have because I obtained them online. As soon as I said I just wanted the prescription he clearly lost interest as I guess he knew he wasn't going to get any bonus or commission from trying to upsell to me. Had the customer service been better from the beginning I would have paid the extra to get the glasses from Boots rather than online. So Boots that's your loss because of very poor customer service.

I came in on a emergency with a suspected pvd which was confirmed...I was very anxious and worried...I was seen by a really lovely guy called Jaz.. although it took along time I am so pleased in the way I have been treated and a THOROUGH examination..for that I thank you...the girls who helped me were so lovely..I could not ask for a better service...I will now stay with boots well done and a big thank you..

Both my husband and myself had an appointment today 30/04/2018 The optometrist was most thorough polite and fair. He told me my prescriptions as hardly changed and did not petsued me to buy new glasses, My husband had excellent treatment also from him but, his treatment in choosing his glasses was most disturbing he was helped my a male assistant given a price but when he was then passed on to a woman to finalise etc.. she gave a different price completely saying in her words “ it is not humanly possible “ to give him what was suggested a strange quote ? At this point we decided to leave the store as we had felt completely confused and disappointed with the treatment.

I arrived by bus and took my seat in boots to await my eye test. I was 10 minutes early and needed to use the toilet but was told there were no toilet facilities and would have to either ask the cafe next door or go across the road to use the public toilets. I find this very unacceptable as i am 73 years old and i would have expected a company like boots to provide facilities. I will not use boots again for my eye test and glasses and do hope all the staff never have bladder or stomach problems. I would like an explanation as to why these facilities are not available to their loyal customers.

The whole process was perfect. The eye test was the most thourogh I have had and everything was explained. All staff were very well informed and gave some great recommendations.

The Optometrist was friendly and professional and I had the upmost trust in her. The only thing that let her down was that when someone knocked on the door, she left the room without excusing herself leaving me feeling unimportant.

I was kept waiting for 30 minutes past my appointment time (which I had made over a month in advance). I understand that appointments can run behind on busy days but no one communicated this to me whilst I was sitting there. Only when I spoke to the lady behind the desk and said that I would need to cancel my appointment as i couldn’t wait any longer, was I seen almost immediately, which I thought was strange! I have used Boots for a number of years and always had excellent service so I was disappointed. The additional waiting time also meant that I was unable to stay and choose new glasses, despite having a new description. This will mean an additional visit to the opticians that I will need to find time for.
