Boots Opticians Oxford - Cornmarket Street

I have been going to this branch of Boots Opticians for years and their service is consistently excellent. All the staff are friendly and professional and really care about the service they provide. Nothing is too much trouble. Thank you all!

I made an eye test using the online booking service. On arrival in store I gave someone my name to be booked in. There was me and one other waiting to be seen by an optician. After sitting there for 15 minutes I approached one of the assistants to enquire how long I would be waiting. She said she would find out. Another assistant came to tell me that it would be at least anothe 25 minutes as they were running late. Needless to say I cancelled my appointment and did not take them up on the offer to rebook. The fact that nobody told me how late they were running in the first place just galls me and that I had to ask them. This is not the first time I have had a problem with Boots Opticians Oxford but it will be the last. I left there and made an appointment at spec savers for the next day. Fingers crossed, but it can’t be any worse than the shambles at Boots Oxford. They need to remember that the customer has a choice and that they are losing money because of this inefficiency.

Waiting time a bit too long!

I have been with boots for years for my contact lense/glasses care. During last visit the staff were clearly unable to cope and the optometrist was less than helpful and dismissive.

Overall the appointment process is smooth and allows for any optometrist to pick up where the last one left off so I don't really need to know the name of my optometrist

This was definitely a less thorough check-up than in previous years.

I am satisfied with very thorough check of my sight and having a right prescription, as my present glasses are not correct

Although the team was busy and it was nearing the end of the day, I only had a short wait and all four employees I encountered throughout my appointment were friendly, approachable and engaging. Although I have had many eye tests throughout my life, every step of the appointment was explained and never felt rushed. I was advised about products and deals but not pestered or made to feel like I needed to make a decision then and there. I will definitely continue to come here for my eye tests in future!
