Ophelia helped with my choice of specs and arranged the order. The optometrist, Peter I think, was extremely thorough and helpful. The initial consultation was with a lady ? Optometrist, who made me feel totally at ease. Such a good team!

Two points for improvement: 1- Before my eye test I was asked how much a similar pair of spectacles to my current pair would cost. I was given a quote based on frames costing £150. I was quoted £397.50 (including 25 percent off with an advantage card). After my test I selected a pair of frames costing £130. When the assistant had gone through the options she quoted me a price of £435 (again including the discount). I queried this and after a recalculation the assistant said that she had missed of the "transitions" option from her original calculation. I was not particularly happy about this but went ahead with the purchase anyway. I was also unhappy about paying the full price up front when I will have to wait 3 weeks for my spectacles to be prepared. 2- the assistant seemed to be unsure as to the equipment to use when taking measurements for my new spectacles. Perhaps a bit more training is required here.

Appointment at 09.00, seen very quickly and eyes tested. Spent a bit longer in Boots store as chose 2 new pairs of glasses.

Very detailed review of my eyes and the whole experience was easy and friendly. The appointment was on time and was not rushed at all.

The staff was very nice and warm-hearted, providing an excellent service. We felt very welcomed. My daughter who also had an eyesight test rated the service highly.

I was unimpressed with the attitude of the staff, they continued their conversation wilst I waited to be noticed, when I was talked to I was talked down to, their was 3 or 4 staff milling around not doing much except offering advice to the person dealing with me, I had the feeling it was all a bit to much trouble, right up to the point I produced my staff discount card. Then she became very helpful, however the damage was done, my wife also had an appointment after me but witnessing my treatment cancelled her appointment and went to Scrivens where we had excellent service

The optom was very thorough and explained exactly what he was doing at every step and he asked valid questions regarding my eye health and headaches as I said that when I'm tired i have blurred vision
