I visited the Optometrist who told me I had various problems that had started with my eyes, one of which will gradually get worse through the years, and not offering any way of solving or improving it, and left feeling frightened of slowly losing my sight. She was quite abrupt and matter of fact about it, and obviously very busy writing all the details down as well as going on the computer, not having the time to spend discussing it with me. A few months later I had a fright with strange lights etc in one eye, so I phoned Boots Dolland and Aitchinson with whom I have bought many pairs of glasses and had my eye tests with for years, only to find they could not see me, and I should phone all other Opticians to see if they could fit me in urgently, or go to A & E! I went to A&E where I was seen but told to go to the Optician next time and be referred by them!!! I contacted Boots later and was told they would get back to me - that never happened either!!

The shop was dirty. I walked in and it had that mouldy smell! Took my breath away instantly. Ive taken pictures of how dirty it was to show my friends and family so as for them to avoid it. Ugh. I was there 2 hours as they were extremel under staffed. I will say the optician was good. She knew her stuff. But on discussing the final solution, i found them to be over priced and very much into the hard sell. At this point the guy also gave me someone elses prescription to take away! Wow! Im concerned tgat MY data may not be secure now. :-/ I definitely will not be back.

Maybe have voicemail set up on the phone giving callers the option of leaving a message - unfortunately due to a shortage of staff on the day of my consultation, I was unable to get a response despite calling at 3 different times in the morning. Couldn't be helped - I understand several people were off due to illness.

Staff were very friendly and helpful but the optician was running behind so turned up to appoint to be told there was about a 45 minute delay. A text or phone all would have been helpful.
