I bought my family in for an optician appointment this morning. Some of our family have SEN and we usually find things like this very stressful. However today was excellent. All stages of the process were very clearly explained which made us all relax and feel at ease. Each member of staff were polite and extremely patient. I’ve never experienced such great care in any type of care appointment. Thank you very much. Also everything was very covid safe but without feeling scary and like you’re doing something wrong just by being there, as many places are now with covid safe measures.

I was greeted very welcoming, by a very nice friendly guy, plus the optician I saw was also very friendly and explained eve thing in plain English to me, neither of these two people were pushy in any way shape or form, I was made to feel very at ease, and actually enjoyed my visit, I am going to try and make an appointment for my husband for next week.

First to start the staff were all polite, I'm sure they had good intentions however for consumer in a retail environment it is unusual to feel as if causing hassle by wanting to purchase something. I'll go through the main parts of this... 1. Nothing was explained, I was told to sit in a waiting area, then called by one person who did some tests who then told me to sit again and then taken for an actual eye test. Then was told to sit and wait again, no where through the process I was ever told what was going on. 2. Once this was done I was called over to pay and asked 'do you have any vouchers or anything' I explained I had an eyecare scheme from my work and showed the code on my phone and had my phone taken and shown to other colleagues to check (not ideal when the email was on my confidential corporate email account, perhaps best to check before taking a customers phone?!) When this was done I was told 'ok all done, you can go now' All with a smile and polite but strangely enough I was there to get some glasses!! 3. At this point I'd lost faith and will buy my glasses elsewhere however I get a free pair through the eyecare scheme, on asking about this it was obvious the colleague didn't really know so checked and told me I can pick any from 'over there' and pointed. I asked as it says I can have free 'up to £75' can I pick from the 2 for £75 range, again she went to check, came back and said no can only have one for free but I can get 2 for £75 and pay for the second pair, I asked how does that work, if I pick 2 £50 pairs on 2 for £75 do I pay £50 or £25, the reply 'I dunno'....so I gave up on that. 4. I decide to let my wife come and help me choose as no member of staff wants to help so wait for her, when I walk back in there is not a single member of staff there, I wander around, still no one comes, we look at glasses for around 10-15 minutes and eventually I pick the best of a bad bunch and wait at the reception area and after a few minutes the same girl comes out, I ask to have the pair i've picked and get told ok and measures my pupil distance, after about 30 seconds of that she says 'ok, we'll call when they are ready' and walks off. No effort to see if there is anything else I need, doesn't ask if I want different lenses, another pair or anything. Doesn't even tell me how long it takes, I still don't know, is it an hour? a week? a month? Do they even have my phone number? I have no idea. That was 3 days ago. I'm now booked to see a real opticians who I will buy glasses from, It would be nice to actually get the pair Ive ordered from yourselves but at the moment I'm not too hopeful

Using the corporate eye care scheme, excellent comms throughout, from arrival to completion. Optometrist was excellent, even adjusted my existing glasses frame to fit me better. Great choice of frames available for free on scheme, hope vary focals are as good as service received so far.

The optician suspected glaucoma in one of my eyes, without telling me (worrying me) I was given 2 extra tests there and then. Luckily my eye is ok, but I believe he had concern because he was very tougher. This was the Boots Opticians in Havant!

On time and thorough. 1st time of visiting Havant Boots, very disappointed that my previous history at Fareham Boots could not be seen or transferred. There's no benefit to the customer at staying loyal a Boots when you would like to change locations for your optician.
