Ms Mgbarah was much more informative, reassuring and helpful than the private consultant I paid for during the COVID lockdown. I have now stopped worrying and understand exactly how my eyes function. This is the second time the Boots ophthalmologists have been super helpful.

I was so pleased with my visit to bluewater. I needed to choose new glasses. And wanted to find out about bi focals. I am a very indecisive person. I was helped by Jonh and Jack. Who were both very patient with me. I was asking loads of questions. Not once did either of them make me feel rushed or that my questions were silly. It was explained to me about thickness of glasses and frames that would be good for me. I have never had it all explained so well before. I chose a pair. Today i picked them up. They are perfect. I am so pleased with them. Mary served me today and was also very friendly and helpful. Thank you all so much.

My 5 year old son had his first eye test examination. The first stages were fine with the assistants testing the health of his eyes. However when my son was called in to see the Optometrist Mr M Patel, he was extremely rude with my son throughout the whole process with very assertiveness tone in his voice and showed no patience to see a young child. He was not child friendly and did not talk to a child's level and spoke in an adult manner. Baring in mind this is a little person, a young child whom has never experienced an eye examination before. His voice and tone was quite forceful with comments saying "you are behaving badly, your mum will not take you shopping", strong tone and repeating saying it to my son. At this point I spoke to my son to sit still but as a parent, I'm not sure I was shocked or how to react to his behavior as an optician talking to a child in this manner. I should have reported this to the manager straight away but I wanted to get out of the store so that my son was not to feel any distress from this awful man.

I had a poor experience with My local Boots opticians. However I highly recommend the service at Bluewater. My optometrist was professional and made helpful suggestions in regard to my lens options. Excellent service.

Effective, friendly and professional. Lots of new equipment used. The automation lead to non clinical staff running tests. Leaving the optometrist to interpret. Almost like a private hospital

The appointment booking area of the app is clunky and not user friendly. The fact that Boots is a nationwide company and doesn't seem to have a company-wide customer database in 2017 is terrible. I called Strood to ask whether it was my eye test or my contact lense check and they had no updates since 2010 (when I started going to Bluewater). I cannot believe all branches aren't on the same system! Eventually got through to Bluewater who confirmed the appointment type and booked me in. It's far simpler than trying to use the app - it's such a shame as I would much prefer to use the app to arrange it. The other issues I have had is having letters for appointments that aren't really required (kept saying I was overdue an appointment that I wasn't) and recently I had a letter to say that you made changes to my contact lense scheme at my request when I hadn't requested any change! Queried at my appointment last week and they tried to say that the lenses have just gone up in price (which isn't the case). It's just poor communications and poor software (app and in-branch). The only positives are the service from my optometrist and the Advantage points! Otherwise I think I'd be going elsewhere now...

I have seen Laura twice about contact lenses and she has been great, really helpful and makes you feel at ease. I saw Mary to teach me about putting and taking out lenses and she was excellent. She made me feel comfortable and was able to answer all my questions. She had impeccable customer service and I was very impressed.

I have used boots opticians for the last two years after the optician spotted something unusual with my son and sent him to hospital. This prompt action saved his life as he had a brain tumour before this I had no idea what an eye examination could pick up and will always be grateful to this optician. The service I have had from them has always been exceptional.
