Terrible customer service. Misleading information given to get you to have an eye test. Promises made about products being able to collect when this is not true. Time wasters - do not use. Only interested in your money - not you!!!!

My experience with Boots SouthGate has been on the verge of terrible with from initial contact i had previously spoken to a lady on the desk and we had spent 20 minutes picking out glasses as i had just had my eye test everything else etc. Once the frames had been picked i had told the lady i would like to order these, the lady had not mentioned payment nor how the transaction would occur. I had mentioned two or three times do i not have to take payment today? the lady told me on two separate occasions you can pay for them when they have been ordered in. I wait the 10 days which is the amount of time the lady had told me to wait and that i shall receive a phone call to say that my new glasses have arrived. I wait around two weeks for a phone call and then decide to go into store to see if they have arrived, speak to another consultant (which did not seem to bothered whether i was being served or seem to be very responsive when i was talking to her about what had happened) the sales consultant had told me that i never ordered the glasses and that there is no way possible that i could have ordered the glasses without having to pay for them, being very rude and using a tone and demeanor that was just not acceptable to speak to customers specially when I as a customer and a student am spending a lot of money in their institution just for a pair off glasses. Furthermore, i had to reorder the same glasses i had originally ordered from the same store previously around 2 weeks before, having to wait an additional 10 days for the glasses to arrive, had given the sales consultant my contact details for them to contact me the second my glasses had came into store, waited the 12 days still no contact, went into store and another sales consultant had told me that the glasses have been there for 2 days but still not a phone call. The service i had received at boots opticians well just was terrible do not recommend shopping there; and the sales consultants need some training in customer service as their facial expressions when greeting customers is poor.

We both had a sight test with Gareth who was really friendly & thorough. I don't have a prescription so I didn't need glasses but my partner did. Matt helped him to chose his frames & gave advice on fitting & colours etc, but never pushy. We were lucky that although it was a Saturday afternoon it wasn't too busy so Matt was able to spend a good bit of time with us. Everyone we encountered was helpful, friendly & informative.

Matt helped me out when I had almost run out of dsily contact lenses by finding out that I was entitled to a free sample set - which would last me until my next 3 month batch was delivered. He called me a few days later to tell me they had arrived. Great service as Matt solved my problem simply and quickly and took ownership to resolve it.

I had an eye problem, I phoned Boots for an appointment and got one the next day (which was fine), a referral was made and the hospital called me the next morning, for an appointment with them the next day ~ so all in all only 3 days, excellent! Boots Optometrist was very helpful, reassuring and efficient and made me feel relaxed about the process. I would thoroughly recommend Boots!

Great with my boys 11 and 7 years.... they went in the room to have their eyes tested on there own this time, which I thought was great to be given the option.... no negative issues that need highlighting
