There were limited seats available at A&E and the assessment nurse was sat behind the reception asking you what your problem was. This is not a place to be sharing sensitive information regarding your medical urgency. She then referee me to the hospital GP which was not what I wanted as it was something wrong with my vagina and he couldn’t examine me. He then went on to scold me regarding me not being on any vitamins whilst trying to conceive and challenged why I had not done a pregnancy test, when I knew I was t preventing due to not having sex. He then went on to do a pregnancy test and said I had a urine infection. Gave me a prescription and advised I take the antibiotics. The next day I went to my own go who sent me to Barnsley hospital accident and emergency who referred me to gynaecology to inform me I was advised wrong and not to take any of the medication as I had a womb infection. Wasting my time, causing me servre discomfort along with out of pocket.

Private rooms for assessment Listen to your patients needs and ask what they think it could be. Also advise on waiting times and the procedures at a&e

Appointment with Doctor at 23.30 waited until 00.15 then seen by a non Doctor who did not know what they were doing. Then at 00.45 walked me into A&E to have a blood test because of a false blood pressure reading. Then AE took me into examination did oxygen again finger and blood pressure no blood taken then asked me to wait in waiting area. At 02.30am 14 people waiting I asked at A&E reception who was it that brought me into A&E and reception said they did not know they never seen that person before a complete waste of taxpayers money and waste of my time I left A&E at 02.35 am.

My Doctors at Regents square would not see me for a chest infection but I could ring the triage next day or same day service down the road from Regents Square. I rang same day service even after explaining symptoms they insisted on asking irrelevant questions connected to heart attacks and strokes. The call handler she then told me she was immediately dispatching an ambulance. I said no not required let me speak to a professional she told me a Doctor would ring me who I did speak to at about 10 pm after questions the doctor offered me to visit him at the DRI at 23.30 which I accepted. The GP service needs modern facilities more resources you would save money and time

I have given my answer because there was a ridiculous waiting time even for people with appointments calling through the 111 service. Patients would go in and been seen, come out and then there would be a random 20-30 minute gap until the next person was called in. People were leaving due to the 4 hour wait. Only 2 doctors were on at the time and the room was full of patients.

Get more doctors might be a start ? And yes I know it’s a struggle I’m not a stupid person living in the dark - however this service is huge and has a lot of patients - it was a busy Friday evening and there was two doctors on? How is that ever going to work? Let everyone know there is a wait - even if you have called through 111 - there was only an apparent waiting time for patients who had been sent from a&e - yet my appointment was at 6pm and I didn’t get seen until 8? I love the NHS and I think it’s a fantastic service but Doncaster really does let it down. It’s an embarrassment and the room was 100% not covid friendly or save. I went i with one problem and over the weekend I’ve developed a chest and ear infection - something I did mention but it wasn’t taken seriously. Maybe listen to the patient who is living in the body of the illness instead of over ruining because you’ve got a degree in medicine?

All the staff were lovely and took great care of me and did there best for me

I went to urgent care for my appointment at midnight I was told I was staying in and I was then in a&e till half 5 in the afternoon waiting for a bed which isn’t any of the staffs fault as they still made sure I got the care I needed. Also I wasn’t allowed anyone to stay with me in a&e as covid restrictions but when I got in there I was the only person there without someone with me which I thought was weird as I couldn’t take any one in with me, the rules need to apply to everyone Also in tge a&e ward waiting for a bed I couldn’t have a visitor but the woman across from me could have her daughter as her friend worked there and said it was fine

I suffer from CFS/ME and have recently over the last 5 weeks or so been subjected to abnormal pain and numbness in my back, legs and lumbar region. Taken the usual painkillers to no avail, was told could be sciatica, keep up the painkillers and possibly physio. No appointments available. No appetite for food or drink resulting in constipation. After 2 visits to a&e in Scarborough, good experience, 1 Dr visit, 2 health practitioner phone calls dispensed Amitriptyline which sent me to sleep but not the pain gone. Called same day clinic in Doncaster, referred me to DRI A&E who in turn sent me to Urgent Care. Long wait but saw a good Dr, thorough examination and suspected bowel obstruction. Sent down to Emergency Surgical Assessment unit. Brilliant nurse practitioner Deena. Thorough examination again plus x-ray. No blockage but constipation, bad arthritis in lower spine which is possible cause of pain and numbness. Discussed with orthopaedic surgeon who advised MRI and referral to Spine clinic. Given Naproxen and Movicol and Oemoprazole. Can't praise them enough, long day but worth it for peace of mind. Just shows how different it is with face to face consultations as opposed to phone calls.

Suggested improvements
Nothing. You were all so good and caring
