Generally really pleased given the current climate.
There were limited seats available at A&E and the assessment nurse was sat behind the reception asking you what your problem was. This is not a place to be sharing sensitive information regarding your medical urgency.
She then referee me to the hospital GP which was not what I wanted as it was something wrong with my vagina and he couldn’t examine me. He then went on to scold me regarding me not being on any vitamins whilst trying to conceive and challenged why I had not done a pregnancy test, when I knew I was t preventing due to not having sex. He then went on to do a pregnancy test and said I had a urine infection. Gave me a prescription and advised I take the antibiotics. The next day I went to my own go who sent me to Barnsley hospital accident and emergency who referred me to gynaecology to inform me I was advised wrong and not to take any of the medication as I had a womb infection. Wasting my time, causing me servre discomfort along with out of pocket.
Appointment with Doctor at 23.30 waited until 00.15 then seen by a non Doctor who did not know what they were doing. Then at 00.45 walked me into A&E to have a blood test because of a false blood pressure reading.
Then AE took me into examination did oxygen again finger and blood pressure no blood taken then asked me to wait in waiting area. At 02.30am 14 people waiting I asked at A&E reception who was it that brought me into A&E and reception said they did not know they never seen that person before a complete waste of taxpayers money and waste of my time I left A&E at 02.35 am.
I have given my answer because there was a ridiculous waiting time even for people with appointments calling through the 111 service. Patients would go in and been seen, come out and then there would be a random 20-30 minute gap until the next person was called in. People were leaving due to the 4 hour wait. Only 2 doctors were on at the time and the room was full of patients.
I don't work my leg nerves both platinum frames
I visited urgent care and was taken to A&E, till 9 hours to actually be admitted. Very very diabolical
All the staff were lovely and took great care of me and did there best for me
I suffer from CFS/ME and have recently over the last 5 weeks or so been subjected to abnormal pain and numbness in my back, legs and lumbar region. Taken the usual painkillers to no avail, was told could be sciatica, keep up the painkillers and possibly physio. No appointments available. No appetite for food or drink resulting in constipation. After 2 visits to a&e in Scarborough, good experience, 1 Dr visit, 2 health practitioner phone calls dispensed Amitriptyline which sent me to sleep but not the pain gone. Called same day clinic in Doncaster, referred me to DRI A&E who in turn sent me to Urgent Care. Long wait but saw a good Dr, thorough examination and suspected bowel obstruction. Sent down to Emergency Surgical Assessment unit. Brilliant nurse practitioner Deena. Thorough examination again plus x-ray. No blockage but constipation, bad arthritis in lower spine which is possible cause of pain and numbness. Discussed with orthopaedic surgeon who advised MRI and referral to Spine clinic. Given Naproxen and Movicol and Oemoprazole. Can't praise them enough, long day but worth it for peace of mind. Just shows how different it is with face to face consultations as opposed to phone calls.
