Boots Opticians Chelmsford - High Chelmer

I walked into the optical department, and guess what? There was only one girl working—just her. I asked her for assistance with some reading glasses I needed, and she showed me a few options, then just up and vanished! I found a frame I liked, but, of course, there was no one around to take my order. I wasn't the only one waiting; there was a couple there too, and no one was there to help us! I stood around for at least 35 minutes—no one at the counter, no one in the back. Finally, I got fed up and put the glasses back. It’s ridiculous how awful the customer service was! So I ended up going to Specsavers and ordered my reading glasses there with the best customer service.

I finally managed to get an eye test ( review was due September 2020)and after they cancelled my January appointment I got an appointment for end of July. My prescription had changed so there and then I ordered new glasses. I was assured that all I had to do was come back on a couple of weeks to pick them up at the door, and if I had decided to take advantage of the second pair half price offer then I could order them then. I went to collect them and was told that I would have to wait at least half an hour for someone to locate my order. I decided to return a couple of days later. When I did return I mentioned about the second pair offer and was told that I would have to make another appointment ( couldn't say when that would be) and then the wait for the order so there was no way I could have new prescription sunglasses in the near future. Then to cap it all when I was given the glasses I had ordered at the door, the bag also contained a pair of glasses for a completely different person. I certainly wouldn't call this good service. Boots lost an additional order and I lost the chance for new sunglasses

My experience with Boots Opticians was extremely good. I would like to Thank Julia on making me feel relaxed and doing a very good job. The glasses I am now wearing have changed my life. I can see properly again. Thank you

It is the first time that I now have to wear glasses most of the day, therefore they are very important and I have to depend on the Optometrist to get it right, They have succeed in all aspects. Thank you very much

Everything was good and the trainee that helped me did very well at her job and made it quite fun. All in all a very good experience

the lady testing my eyes became unwell and was sent home a replacement was quickly found the whole session was professional and efficient

Brilliant optometrist (might be Anna?) who showed a real interest in me as an individual and took time to listen. Haven't had a great experience with a Boots before so I was pleasantly surprised.

Lovely lady Julie at boots opticians in Chelmsford was so helpful in helping me choose my glasses as I was a bit embarrassed and a bit bewildered- great customer service!
