Boots contact lens schemes are great and the opticians at Merry Hill provide a good service but the appointment scheme is shocking. They don’t seem to realise that people have jobs to go to too and often randomly cancel your appointment. My husband and I booked an appointment some months ago on the same evening. I had a call at around 4pm to say my optician had to go home. Then an hour later my husband received a call saying his optician was also going home early. I couldn’t get back for a while so they cancelled my scheme. I made a further appointment for this evening and they promised to reinstate the scheme and would you believe I’ve e just received a call an hour before the appointment saying the optician has had to go home early again. This optician is fine if you haven’t got anything to do all day but not if you have to work i’m afraid.

Welcomed very politely and was pre-screened quickly. Staff member Chris was very polite and explained the pre-screen test well. Optometrist, Kav, was very polite and efficient. She explained different aspects of the eye test well and answered appropriate questions clearly. The prescription changes were explained well.

Our experience and treatment was great.We asked for an eye test and was given one for an hour later.The staff were very polite and informative.Both myself and my wife were very impressed. A week later and we now have new glasses supplied and fitted.

The counter staff were very rude, my son needed his left contact lense changing as the fit was incorrect, I had trouble booking the appointment and had to speak to the optician before getting an appointment, then when we arrived the counter lady asked my son to wash his hands, while he was doing this I asked her if he had new left and right lenses (because the right lense that he had was fine and I had that lense in my bag) she said “I don’t know” then spoke to my son and said ”there is your left lense and there is your right lense”, was there any need. Considering my son is a minor and I pay for his lenses and My family have been customers for years, I would expect better customer service. I don’t think I will be a boots customer for much longer.
