I found this to be a fantastic hospital. The staff are all amazing and treat you with respect and dignity. The communication is brilliant. I cannot fault any of it.

I stayed at the Ridgeway overnight for a breast reduction operation. The accommodation was good and had all I needed. The nurses were amazing - really knowledgable and helpful. My overnight nurse has specialised in a certain area and used the type of dressing I had, which was causing an issue, so could sort it out at 2am! The staff were super responsive, with me within a minute from ringing the help buzzer. Food was lovely - great choice, cooked well and warm when it arrived. I even stayed in an extra couple of hours on the day I was discharged so I could have lunch there. My only reservation was when visiting a week after the op to have my dressings changed, and reception didn’t inform the breast care nurse I was there, and the appointment wasn’t on the system (despite letters to me). After waiting 30 mins I asked and was sent to the other reception who sorted it out for me. This hasn’t put me off using the Ridgeway.

Although the building is rather tired, the care here is first class. I have been here for 2 surgeries, and a day case procedure and have been taken care of every time.

I was a patient at the Private Hospital BMI Healthcare The Ridgeway near Swindon. The Consultants I saw were absolutely fantastic, there is no criticism whatsoever of the care I received. It is their administration that is needs urgent attention. Look at the previous Care Quality Commission report from March 2018, under the present Executive Director, which states, "Overall Requires Improvement." I was overcharged £1,115.00 and the level of incompetence that followed was farcical. The hospital overcharged £1,000 and the Radiology £115.00. Not only did the hospital credit the wrong account with a refund, the cheque from Radiology was dated for the forthcoming month. The letter from the Executive Director contained error, she was packing to go on holiday, I believe. They failed to contact me on certain date, and they were unable to listen to my calls as, the recording system had a fault, how fortunate. They failed to answer, in detail, the fundamental points I raised in my complaint. The Executive Director stated that she did have some good staff on her team, I have not encountered any. She was surprised when I complained about this whole fiasco, hoping, no doubt, to brush it under the carpet. BMI Healthcare are currently assisting the NHS in clearing the backlog caused by Covid-19, but if my experience is the normal then the invoices from this organisation need to be forensically examined. It was left to me, recovering from two heart attacks this year, to resolve this issue and arrange the transfer of funds due to their ineptitude. I find it unbelievable that I am the only patient to suffer from such a level of incompetence and careless attitude. The response from the Executive Director was hand delivered at 8.15 pm on the specified date, no ring on the bell; as if a thief in the night had called.
