Had a appointment time got out of bed to go to appointment still waiting 11/2 later
111 said urgent would call within a hour rang 4 hours later with appointment time
I was sent to A&E by the nurses from my work place. I was informed to go to the urgent treatment centre by a nurse at the hospital.
The receptionist asked me to write my details down, this kept my detail’s private because the waiting area was close. The lady also advised me that it could be up to a 4 hour wait, not bad really for how busy the hospital appeared.
Once I was called (approx.2hrs 15mins later), the doctor asked a few questions, took a urine sample, after a quick test, he returned to inform me that I had a uti. I also thought I had recently suffered with tonsillitis, it was strep throat.
I only attended due to feeling dizzy and a very high blood pressure, I left feeling a lot better which I would say was because the doctor was listening to my symptoms, and acting on his knowledge. He was a really great guy, relaxed my nerves as soon as I entered his office, even had me laughing.
I left with all that I needed, feeling like a weight had been lifted, and waiting in a chemist, in less than 4 hours.
The service I received from start to finish was Exceptional. Thank you to the Doncaster Urgent Treatment Centre
Long wait
Phoned about my granddaughter. The appointment time was upheld and the service was fab. There were 2 ladies on the desk who were very kind. The doctor was a fab lady who was so caring. Really impressed with the service- thanks to everyone
Waited 9 hours for a call back and five hours in a room full of children poorly because there was no doctor available to them in a and e., doctor didn’t have time to talk about the issues, tablets given have not done a thing. This system does not work.
The examination and taking of a full medical history was extremely thorough by Urgent Care, suggesting many possible diagnoses that needed further diagnostics. Communication was good, open and transparent between us and the doctor/practitioner we saw.
Because that is my answer
I do not have a long standing condition.
