The examination and taking of a full medical history was extremely thorough by Urgent Care, suggesting many possible diagnoses that needed further diagnostics. Communication was good, open and transparent between us and the doctor/practitioner we saw.

Suggested improvements
The initial assessment over the phone to get the appointment was so inflexible, it suggested a paramedic be called, which we refused. We just needed to see a doctor and get referred for diagnostics. The process fell down after then being handed over to A&E who did very little, incorrectly assumed food poisoning which went against what the Urgent Care appointment had identified and then passed us back to our GP. We then had to wait another 5 days to see a GP to arrange blood tests and stool samples, which could have been actioned by A&E or Urgent Care. We feel we wasted A&Es time and resources and we're just being bounced around the NHS. There's a huge amount of inefficiency, bad process and lack of information sharing between handing off patients between Same Day/ Urgent Care, A&E and back to the GP.
