It was relatively quick. I had the mindset I’d be in there for hours and that just wasn’t the case. :-D it’s nice to have the urgent care unit rather than having to wait in a&e for hours.

Suggested improvements
The transfer from A&E to urgent care took 10minutes to go through on the system. This should have been done instantly allowing for a smoother journey.

I have used the service a few times and have always been treat with the upmost respect.

Suggested improvements
Appointment times are not routinely stuck too... app was 8pm left the building at 930pm. Maybe a heads up from the doctor prior to getting the appointment that this is not specific time

Should have been seen when I was and when I was seen I was told nothing new and just to "carry on"

Suggested improvements
I had an appointment and wasn't seen until almost an hour after eventhough the waiting room was empty. This didn't help with anxiety and being alone

I was advised to go to A&E by my doctor and after ringing 111 following chest pains that I had been having for around 4 months. I didn’t feel much better for going as the doctor said it was probably just a pull and would go eventually but I disagree with this diagnosis. The pain comes and goes throughout the day and has lasted 4 months suggesting it is not a pull as I would expect this to hurt constantly throughout the day and ease after a period of time. When I asked if it could be anxiety/ stress the doctor looked at my age and said I was too young to be stressed and then moved on. I think it could be stress/ anxiety and I would have liked some help with this but I felt stupid and disregarded when I mentioned it.

I understand the extreme pressure on the NHS at the moment and how hard everyone is working. Therefore I think the only thing I could say is for doctors to listen abit better to the patients and concerns they have.

The 111 service was great, quick and thorough. The on call doctor I spoke to was lovely and knowledgeable. The doctor I saw in the clinic was kind and approachable and was able to prescribe me something to help.

Suggested improvements
A bit of guidance about what to do as it's a recurring problem would have been great

I had several falls in the snow and I hurt my hand and my chest. I suspect I’ve broken my hand and my ribs. The Dr told me they don’t X-ray for broken ribs anymore and made no attempt to look at my hand, it was dismissed as insignificant yet I am in emence pain. I was prescribed co-coda-mol and to be honest these are not fully alleviating my pain. The Dr examined my chest and diagnosed a broken rib (I’d figured that out all by myself, which is why I attended the hospital). I would have liked my hand and ribs X-raying so we could see if my hand and ribs need intervention in order to heal properly

Waiting time for early on a Sunday morning seemed excessive as there were only four of us in the waiting room and one of those had an appointment

I had to go to A&E. However only the day before I had been released from the Ear, Nose and Throat ward. When I arrived at A&E I was told I could have phoned the ENT department directly and got re-admitted directly. This wasn’t told to me on my discharge. It would have saved the A&E admitting me and waiting to then be taken to ENT. The whole time I was in severe pain needed morphine by the time I got there. With a pre existing medical condition it would be better to go straight to the department rather than bothering A&E and having to repeat your medical history.
