Was seen quickly. Doctor explained what was wrong I went home it was as simple as that
I had an appointment on the 9/10/21 at 11.15 as a result of ringing the GP out of hours number. It was about five minutes before the operator answered, they told me where the centre was as I hadn't been for over twenty years. When I got to the hospital, parking on the main road was ok with it being a Saturday, in fact there were car parking places on site. I entered the building Urgent Treatment Centre reception a bit small, but ok other than the air temperature was too hot, and there was only a little window cracked open to let in fresh air, which was bad considering the confined area and risk of picking Covid up, the outside door should have been opened to allow fresh air in. I had to keep going outside due to poor air quality / difficulty breathing, (other people also did the same or waited in the corridor where it was easier to breath and at less risk of picking up Covid). I was early to my appointment, but I didn't get seen to until 11.30am. The doctor was fine, I told him I needed Penicillin for my ear infection, but before he looked at my ear he took my temperature and blood pressure despite me already having done my own monitoring a few days before for my annual appraisal. My blood pressure and heart beat were elevated, this was because I had been struggling for air in reception (normally around 60bpm it was 85), at one point, I was thinking of leaving before being seen as I was needing air. My lungs over the years have taken in coal dust, asbestos fibres and boiler dust from the power stations where I worked, so being like this didn't help when I was in the poorly ventilated reception especially with my face mask on, as required. The doctor gave me two lots of medicine, a spray and flucloxacillin, and told me where I could get the prescription filled local to my home address. No problems with the doctor or service, but the air temperature and quality needs addressing.
Very disappointed with my experience at urgent care, I went in for a very sensitive situation and wasn’t given any support, compassion or comfort whilst I waited over 2 hours to be seen
I put I don't have any of these condition because I don't have any of the conditions this is why I gave this answer
Because I got told on the phone I had an appointment at 3 for a walk in I got there 20 too 3 and I waited till 4 and I did not get a phone call till 7 I had no warning that it would of been that long not the first time I have been messed around by my gp and nurses this month
Because it was true of the overall experience that I had while I was in dri
I was advised to go to A&E by 111 and they said staff would know I was coming. However, when I arrived I needed to explain my problem 3 times. There were no chairs in the waiting area which made it even harder as I came in with due to shallow breathing and being extremely out of breath even at rest.
I was sent to the urgent treatment centre where again, there were no seats. No social distancing and it was crowded. There were times when there was no doctor, so waiting time was even longer
Because i was asked to?
Because the service was very good
I went to UTC based on GP doctor suggestion and I’ve waited for 4hr30 mins after that I meet with Doctor
and this is not my story, all other patients also waited for more than 4hrs so that means your process isn’t correct.
