Use a hearing aid
I was greeted in a friendly manner and given clear information about next steps. My appointment was timely.
My interaction with the practitioner ( a black lady I regret I didn't catch her name) was reassuring and made me feel comfortable. I was treated with warmth, care and compassion and the practitioner was very patient with me as she took a meticulous history from me.
I really value the fact that I was listened to and I was very satisfied with my care outcome . Thank you very much!
Whilst the appointment I received was prompt the doctor I saw was condescending & rude. I recently attended for treatment for a UTI & I am 11 weeks pregnant. After trying to tell me that trimethoprim was safe to use during my pregnancy which I know it not to be I expressed concerns about being on multiple courses of a different antibiotic recently for the same condition & asked if back to back treatments were safe. I was met with a condescending laugh & ‘we’re not in the habit of prescribing medication that isn’t safe’.
I felt dismissed at a vulnerable time when I was seeking reassurance from a clinician.
Asthma all my life, hypothyroidism and osteoporosis.
The receptionist was lovely very efficient - I was early for my appointment but didn’t get seen until nearly an hour after my appt was supposed to take place. The nurse called me in just using my first name and was quite abrupt! I found it very difficult to understand her as we both had masks on - she was very abrupt no bedside manner or empathy - I explained the reason I was there which was a last resort to me as I was in so much pain and couldn’t take it anymore - she said I did not have an infection and that I could buy a throat spray - she made me feel like I was wasting your time - I explained how much pain I was in and surely there was something wrong she left the. Room for around five mins then came back and sat and stared at her computer not speaking to me - after a long pause she suggested again that I buy diff lam spray as it’s cheaper than prescription I get free prescriptions so she reluctantly did a prescription I felt completely helpless and left. I used the difflam spray within a day and had pre arranged doctors appt on another matter today where I raised my pain as I am still in pain - I sent the doctor pictures and straight away have been prescribed antibiotics !!!!! If this had happened on Monday I would have now been well on my way to recovery.
I suffer with Arrythmia, and gout
I was seen for chest pains and something with my heart. Said that everything was okay but if I continued with the pain to go to A& E. I went to A&E and found I have an enlarged left side of heart with lack of blood flow.
The lady on reception was not very welcoming and was more interested in chatting to her colleagues. The medical professional who attended to me did not introduce herself and was more interested in getting me to go for a covid test. I have a serious lung condition which needs urgent attention. I was told there was no problem with my lung but I needed a covid test. My test came back negative and yesterday I attended the A&E dept at Bassetlaw Hospital (the staff were amazing and never once asked about Covid) only to find out that I have a lung infection which is now being treated.
I don't get enough information about my situation and not understand very good with mask on and fob me off to tell me go my gp.
I was told they can't do anything my gp is paid to look after me so I need to see my own gp same day health centre can't send me for blood tests or xray
