Waiting times are too high and no way of knowing where you are in the que. No quiet room to wait for people with autism and sensory needs.

Suggested improvements
Most things. Research more and maybe get staff to experience an and e for themselves.

I visited A&E after injuring my bicep that day all in all I was in and out with an appointment for the orthopaedic dept in three hours or there abouts, that in itself is a win. It was a fairly busy night, so triage took some time but the staff were rattling through them, the doctor called me through and dealt with me promptly and arranged for my ongoing appointment and treatment. On this occasion my visit actually exceeded expectations as I thought I'd be sat till at least three or four in the morning as it was I was out just after 1 AM

Suggested improvements
I have had occasion to use Addenbrooks in Cambridge whilst travelling and they operated a system of triaged on entry. Whereby a member of nursing staff is at the door with a terminal, anyone who is not a A&E case is referred back to GP service or elsewhere. This greatly sped things up, as it means less footfall through A&E for non priority issues.

Suggested improvements

Apart from the triage nurse ( I think she should have kept her personal views about me to herself)everyone else was polite.

Suggested improvements
Luckily it wasn’t very busy . I think a great improvement from the old A & E.

Every person I came into contact was very friendly and professional. I had total confidence that they were doing their best for me. The treatment areas all looked very smart and clean. I was particularly impressed with the booths with the sliding doors that ensured total privacy.

Suggested improvements
The only negative I can comment on is the lack of privacy when being booked into the department. The waiting area was busy but very quiet as in no noise. I therefore heard people’s names, addresses, dob’s, names of next of kin etc. As well as their medical emergency as would they would have heard all of my details. This may not be a problem for most people but I am quite a private person myself.

I would like to thank everyone for my care. Ive not always had the best experience at this hospital due to staff being overwhelmed and clearly compassion fatigue, however, on this occasion, I was treated with kindness and dignity, even when I felt like I didn't deserve it. Thank you

Suggested improvements
The nurses could have helped me get clean as I was falling over trying to change my soiled clothing
