I visited A&E after injuring my bicep that day all in all I was in and out with an appointment for the orthopaedic dept in three hours or there abouts, that in itself is a win. It was a fairly busy night, so triage took some time but the staff were rattling through them, the doctor called me through and dealt with me promptly and arranged for my ongoing appointment and treatment. On this occasion my visit actually exceeded expectations as I thought I'd be sat till at least three or four in the morning as it was I was out just after 1 AM

Suggested improvements
I have had occasion to use Addenbrooks in Cambridge whilst travelling and they operated a system of triaged on entry. Whereby a member of nursing staff is at the door with a terminal, anyone who is not a A&E case is referred back to GP service or elsewhere. This greatly sped things up, as it means less footfall through A&E for non priority issues.
