I think it was Rachel, she was very good at listening and trying to help me to deal with the situation. She put me in touch with people who would help me with my situation, which I was grateful for. A good listener, and I felt at ease talking to her.

I found my therapist to be exceptionally informative,approachable and caring . Very patient with me throughout the whole session . Tried to put me at ease and gave me encouragement to overcome my fears . I feel that i have been given insight about my depression and anxiety and the way i could deal with both condition effectively .

Was discharged home when presenting in A&E suicidal after being sent by 111. Was then seen my the MHLT and sent home with the number to ring for 111 and was told ‘we can’t provide any mental health treatment here’ … it’s a constant cycle of no one listening.

Suggested improvements
Need staff to be more compassionate and understanding. Different things work for different people but when a teenage presents in A&E with a plan to end their life, being told to do mindfulness isn’t going to change that.

Absolutely appalling treatment.I wanted to go home, but was prevented from leaving the ward, and put into an empty room, by security guards. I was not violent, just very confused. A black mat was thrown on the floor, three large security guards stood at the door, and prevented me from leaving the room. Two security guards in particular goaded me, took my phone from me, refused to leave me alone, resulting in the situation escalating. I constantly asked for my sister to be called; she wasn't. I was held down by four security guards and injected with god know what. I was treated like a criminal, assaulted not only by the security staff, but also a police officer who pushed me so hard I fell flat on my back, banged my head and passed out. I was shown no kindness, dignity or respect. Nothing was explained to me, then hours later a man dressed in dark blue scrubs comes into the room, asked me whether I thought about killing myself, was I going to kill myself (that was the reason I was at the hospital in the first place) then I was allowed to call a taxi and go home! I left the hospital covered in bruises, in a state of shock, and mentally, in a far worse state than when I arrived there. Next time I'll shoot myself in the head! With reference to the letter dated 5 July 2022 from the Mental Health Liaison Team - no mention was made regarding me attending the citizen advice bureau, no 'crisis contact' or mental health liaison booklet was given to me. Why lie?????

Review of West Essex Community Pain Management Service

Having had various problems with both NHS and private contact I found telephone contact with Clinical Nurse Specialist Kasia Kozanka most satisfactory in every respect. A genuine concern was shown regarding my particular problems, previous contacts regarding previous consultation and treatments and those concerned with them. I was able to converse easily with the nurse and, with regard to her obvious extent of knowledge regarding my condition, I assumed that she was an experienced doctor. Following our initial conversation I was both surprised and pleased to have all my questions and queries swiftly and satisfactorily answered by those concerned after she had quickly contacted them. I was then pleased to be contacted to see if all was progressing well following our initial conversation.
