The food provided to me was not up to standard stale bread, probably illustrates the point best the food downstairs in the canteen appeared to be more varied and much better.
This has been a wonderful experience and I could not recommend this enough.I is a fantastic hospital and service and will use again
Thank you
The ground floor reception did not escort me just sent me to 1st floor who then sent me to 5th. I was given a cursory guide round the room and then left.
I had to ask a nurse if was going to get breakfast and then had to order so after fasting from 6am operation at 6pm a egg sandwich at 11pm I didn't eat until 9am the following day. The omelette was rubbery and toast dry. I didn't eat it.
.
Most of the staff were excellent, however on one of my worst days the health care assistant that day was appalling, I had to ask the nurse to make sure she didn’t come in or do anything for me for the rest of the day, not that she had done anything for me before. When I rang the bell she ignored it and another nurse had to come from another station, I asked the nurse who came was anyone outside and he said yes. I think her name was Eunice max possibly an agency nurse but I never saw her again thankfully. So one health care assists cost the rest of the 5th floor team 5 stars.
Overall care was very good and theatre staff excellent, but aftercare when back in my room slightly perfunctory.
As i was booked in very near to the operation date the process was rushed so the bed/room wasn’t allocated so I had to wait to get one. After the operation I was transferred to a different room. Also with the first room there was no safe so my valuables went into another room…which a nurse had to get for me after my operation….all a bit chaotic really. Also i was told by BUPA that my anaesthetist wasn’t on their list contrary to what he told me. This all added stress to what was a difficult situation. BUPA were also unhelpful with giving me a code…so all in all not great!
The service was excellent.
