I have generally been happy with the care I’ve received at Fort House, but I was extremely upset and distressed by my experience yesterday. I was 5 minutes late for an appointment with Mandy, and unfortunately, she refused to see me—even though I’ve previously waited over 45 minutes to be seen by her. What was particularly upsetting was that I was kept waiting for 10 minutes before being told she wouldn’t see me, despite another patient being in my original time slot. That said, I want to highlight how outstanding the practice manager was during this experience—compassionate, understanding, and incredibly supportive. Thanks to her, I was able to see Ruth, who was also exceptionally kind, patient, and helpful. Both the practice manager and Ruth deserve recognition for their professionalism and care. While I understand that clinicians work under pressure, I believe that turning patients away during their appointment time—especially for being just a few minutes late—should only happen if the clinician can confidently say they are always running on time themselves. Consistency and fairness are key in patient care.

We have moved into this area a year ago after leaving Berkshire where the service we received from our doctors surgery was appalling. Signing up with Fort House surgery was the best decision we made. We can not fault the service we receive here and their efficiency is admirable. Keep up the good work.

This practice has refined the process of requesting appointments and care. I have always received responses and know how to access care from the surgery. Reports from other practices have made me realise how lucky I am. I am looking to move house and would ensure I remained in their catchment area.

Was seen by Dr Tim Bates. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to write this as I was so impressed with the care and attention I recieved. Very friendly and took his time explaining his opinion and reasoning. Despite being in there for about 5 mins I never felt rushed. In fact I felt like he had all the time in the world for me. Also shook my hand as I went in. Nice touch.

(I am NOT a current patient but there is no option on your page for this option) I have been trying for 10 months to register with this practice. They had a temporary list closure from last May and I'm told by rather unhelpful receptionist that there are no current plans for the review of this. I know many people that are patients that have moved out of area that were registered. Surely they must regularly review this situation but I'm told there are currently no plans to.

I gave four stars for the reception service - the staff fully deserve five stars, but the physical location and layout of the reception area can cause problems, although the staff have the matter under constant review. The list at this surgery is closed at present - so hears hoping Forte House Surgery can move onto more spacious premises and expand this excellent mix of talent and care

I've been a patient at The Forthouse Surgery for a long time and have received great care from the doctors that are currently based there. Doctor Wyatt supported me through a particularly difficult illness and always gives you so much of her time. She really cares about her patients and gives your problems a lot of consideration. Doctor Bates is also very kind and has provided me with a lot of support and reassurance over the last few years.
