I have always found the white practice in general and Dr Morcos in particular to be above average compared to stories I hear from friends about their experiences of trying to see a dr and the rude receptionists To be honest I don’t recognise the people I come across at the surgery / incl Dr Morcos in some of these reviews . I have always been treated with respect on the phone and face to face .. but then I respond in kind and treat them with respect as I think they are doing an excellent job in what at times must be very trying circumstances .

Suggested improvements
  • For me the service is fine as is … if there is no free face to face appointments and we start with a phone conversation it has always happened that day .. so no complaints I see the question below : I identify with I would like to be able to say I am !

It’s always easy to get a face to face appointment or a telephone consultation if the face to face gone. Nursing team are very helpful, doctors are very professional.

Suggested improvements
  • No suggestion.

It is easy to get an appointment and generally I cannot fault Dr Morcos except I think he could be better informed regarding Menopause and mental health. The receptionist are helpful at times depending on who is working that day as sometimes you get a lovely helpful person and other times they are blunt and rude. I am always polite and it is disconcerting to get rudeness in return to politeness.

Suggested improvements
  • It would be good to recognition of a request sent.

I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get a face to face appointment last Friday. The doctor was brilliant she was patient and thorough I wish she worked their full time. My only complaint was the receptionist. There is one secretary and one receptionist that are extremely unfriendly. It is very off-putting to walk up to the front desk and be polite and friendly to be met with a stony stare and be treated like a bad smell. I don't understand why everytime I encounter these two individuals they treat me and other patients that I have witnessed in the waiting room like a bother?

Suggested improvements
  • Receptionist needs to realise that politeness works both ways and a smile wouldn't hurt.

It is very hard to get a face to face appointment. I have had earache for 7 days tried for 2 days to get an appointment and could only get a telephone one. Doctor prescribed antibiotics ear drops on the telephone, saddened that this is the way it is that a doctor doesn't even see you when you have an ear infection and can diagnose what's wrong without looking in your ears.

Suggested improvements
  • Had a face to face appointment.

The receptionists are extremely rude, I have been at this practice for a number of years. there is one receptionist who needs to go on more training on how to speak to patients. She is totally lacking in compassion. Doctor Morcos has no interest if you speak to him about mental health difficulties. When I tried to talk to me he kept interrupting and gave me a leaflet and prescribed medication that didn't help.

Suggested improvements
  • Reception staff need training on how to speak to people. Dr Morcos needs to improve how he approaches mental health with patients.

All in all a shocking place. My whole family, and extended family, are with this practice - really wish we were not though. from times when we could see him face to face - which hasn't happened in 18 months -Dr Marcos does not listen. He does not/cannot explain his decisions. He uses archaic methods (blood pressure for example). He is dismissive of patients concerns. He has offered incorrect advice, particularly on "female" issues, to my teenage daughter that wasn't just wrong it was 20 years out of date (my wife was horrified as was the female locum in the same practice - but of course nothing will happen). With the current system - a phone call if lucky - again he doesn't listen, quick to prescribe same old same old - even if symptoms have recurred, lets do same as last time that didnt work - and when this is pointed out he ignores you. he is on auto pilot now. for extended family, pensioners, still poor advice. we have medical practitioners in the family, and they are always shocked at his advice/diagnosis. one of his advice was not to do exercise to lose weight! asked why. as exercise makes you eat more............unbelievable all in all - we do not trust this doctor at all. the locum is great though - but i think everyone knows that so it is impossible to get an appointment with her.

  • another doctor would go a long way

Suggested improvements
  • More appointments per day would be better

The receptionist needs to go on a course on how to talk to people, shocking rudeness from her. Does she not realise that patients are vulnerable and a kind word would go a long way. Had a telephone consultation with Dr Morcos, 1 min conversation, his bed side manner is appalling.

Suggested improvements
  • Get a new receptionist that wants to be in the job. I'm polite and respectful to her the same courtesy back would be appreciated.
