Excellent housekeeping staff, ward area was always very clean.
Nursing staff are brilliant. Even though they are very busy, they always find time for you and your needs.
Doctors are amazing as always.
All staff in the renal unit are fantastic and service is very well joins up with links to other health professionals as needed.
Highly recommended!
After 7 months of waiting and a befuddled admin system between 2 hospitals I approached my operation with some trepidation. I was wrong. From the moment I met the operational team I felt secure and enlightened by their cheerful honesty. Everything was explained clearly & concisely before and after the op so that I was aware of procedures at all times.
I know it was a stressful time for the ward as my op was nearly cancelled due to an emergency elsewhere. Some very ill patients on the ward became loud & agitated but were dealt with compassionately & professionally. My own return to consciousness was a bit frightening, and I believe a little violent, but calmed down in a short time by their positive attention.
Aftercare is important, and it's the little things you remember. All patients were acknowledged with a natural smile, (not the awful puppet like white teeth we see so much of), as staff passed a bed. Regular checks to make sure everything was as it should be. Hot drinks were available when requested as was water, and assistance with toilet if required. Nobody likes being in hospital but I don't think any of the team could have done more to make the stay as comfortable as possible.
The staff were all marvellous friendly and helpful, I fortunately have had very little experience of longish hospital stay so this was new to me. I was in Room 8 which was very comfortable.
You all looked after my father with such care and compassion during a difficult time. Treated him with dignity and patience while he was unable to care for himself. Thank you so much
The QA materinity ward and hospital support staff were excellent. This was our second baby at QA and both experiences were superb.
I sincerely applaud the nhs for every bit of treatment i have ever received, after breaking my ankle in Feb I was offered a bone density scan which is very proactive, I am a mobile hairdresser, and visit many elderly clients in their own homes and residential care, and I see the effects of broken hips, wrists, etc, I am very impressed with my osteoporosis being picked up by the scan at age 57 when something can be done for me to help reconstruct the bones, and hopefully preventing me from hip surgery later in life,
Thank you nhs,
NB: I would gladly pay an extra 1p tax to fund our invaluable system.
Medicines were sometimes missed, or came at irregular intervals, making pain management very difficult.
Staff on the whole were polite, friendly and supportive, but on occassion were not.
There was a lack of understanding about my other health conditions and how they would impact my recovery, which made conversations difficult and sometimes heated.
Decisions were made without me being present, then presented to me like I already knew about them and had agreed, which wasn’t the case. I felt gaslighted. Sometimes they weren’t the right decisions or weren’t completely thought through bearing in mind my other conditions impacting my recovery. This lead to panic attacks.
Oh the whole I think the team are capable, friendly and hard working. I just think a ball was dropped with me, likely due to the chronic underfunding of the healthcare system and the pressure that puts healthcare workers under, and not due to any person in the team.
I was seen promptly about 5 mins before my allotted time. The whole procedure was very efficiently conducted
I was sent to G level endoscopy, and waited 45 min to be seen.
I did not mind this atall, but became worried that maybe the receptionist on D level endoscopy may not have informed anyone that I was coming, or that I might not actually be on the list for that session ( I had previously had problems in getting on the endoscopy list due to an administrative error).
Other patients had the same concern.
Could there be a list displayed ( coded if necessary) so that we can know that we are expected when staff are too busy to welcome us to the department personally ?
Otherwise everything was brilliant and this is not a complaint, only a suggestion.
A great service, with excellent polite staff, all my questions were answered and you are not rushed at all.
