Medicines were sometimes missed, or came at irregular intervals, making pain management very difficult. Staff on the whole were polite, friendly and supportive, but on occassion were not. There was a lack of understanding about my other health conditions and how they would impact my recovery, which made conversations difficult and sometimes heated. Decisions were made without me being present, then presented to me like I already knew about them and had agreed, which wasn’t the case. I felt gaslighted. Sometimes they weren’t the right decisions or weren’t completely thought through bearing in mind my other conditions impacting my recovery. This lead to panic attacks. Oh the whole I think the team are capable, friendly and hard working. I just think a ball was dropped with me, likely due to the chronic underfunding of the healthcare system and the pressure that puts healthcare workers under, and not due to any person in the team.
