The hospital has been undergoing extensive renovations. It is light, and airy, with beautiful views over the water. All staff I interacted with were friendly, polite and helpful. There are good amenities now open for staff, patients and visitors. It has a nice feel about it.

I attended QA Portsmouth for the two week cancer referral and more recently for radiotherapy. All the way along on this journey the hospital has been incredible. Consultants, nurses, receptionists, everyone works really hard to provide fantastic care. All delivered in the timescales one would hope for. All staff have been keen to protect dinity and ensure I have been at ease. I could not have asked for better care.

I had worked for the NHS for 25 years and this is the first time I had been on the other side as a patient in Day Surgery. The whole experience was exceptional from admission to discharge, every single member of staff that I came into contact with on my journey were wonderful, I can’t thank them enough for my care.

Review of Alcohol Specialist Nurse Service OPD
23rd May 2024

Nicky was my alcohol specialist nurse. She provided a superb service. Provided great information about the detox and helpful documentation. Thoroughly professional. Nicky pit me at ease and I felt totally supported. I met with two other nurses who also were professional and supportive. A superb service.

The care I received at Queen Alexandra Hospital was excellent from the Theatre Admissions staff, Theatre staff, Recovery staff and Ward staff. I was treated with the upmost care and dignity and everything was explained fully in regard to my surgery and treatment. I highly recommend the hospital.

Review of Eye Department (EED)
5th April 2024

Dr Patel was thorough, kind and listened to the issues with my mother’s failing eyesight. Whilst apologetic for the distressing wait and chasing up we’ve had to do she actually took time to try to rectify this in future.

Suggested improvements
The waiting time was way too long and, in my mother’s case, unnecessary if she’d been seen according to her care plan.

Review of CAU
24th March 2024

I think everyone worked hard to ensure we were well taken care of. I know it's not easy with how busy it gets in there so I really appreciate it. The nurses were all wonderful and so helpful, I'd like to give a particular comment about Helen who was in charge of the ward while we were the overnight. She was amazing, so sweet and attentive. Really tried to make sure we were comfortable and kept me informed of what was going on. Thank you so much.

Suggested improvements
I think with the resources you guys have, you all did a splendid job. We did have to wait a little while but everyone did their best to get us in as soon as possible

I had an p in November 2023 and several phone call since. The staff are lovely caring with a smile. This hospital beat any other I have been to for attitude and the NHS should learn from this. Sussex University Hospitals are exactly the opposite. Thankyou
