The waiting times are long but the treatment I've received has been great. Both my psychiatrist and prescriber have been super helpful in finding what works for me.

I was scheduled to have an online autism assessment on 26th April with a Dr at Psychiatry UK. Due to technical issues, I ended up having 30 minutes with the Dr who did not give me an autism assessment, but rather started to question me about ADHD - at one point saying 'ADHD is great news because it is controlled by medication'. I complained to Psychiatry UK and asked to have a second appointment with another Dr. I was told that this was not the policy and was offered another 30 minutes with the same Dr who did not give me an autism assessment but continued to tell me why I wasn't autistic based on the paperwork I had submitted. At one point she said: we won't give you a diagnosis just because you ask for one. Of course, I understand that but I would have liked to have a proper assessment before this decision was reached - especially as I have struggled for 43 years and never considered autism as a possibility before my mental health nurse told me it was extremely obvious. I have come to the conclusion that the process is too rushed to be comprehensive and would therefore not recommend it to others. The whole experience has left me stressed, upset and extremely confused.

I found PUK to be very professional from start to finish. They were quick to respond to any questions I had and the psychiatrist they provided was very thorough.

Communication was great about my care and appointments, the Psychiatrist, Dr Soumaya Naser El Din was very caring and empathetic. We had technology issues with the online portal at the time of my appointment which was very stressful but the doctor was very apologetic. I am glad we were able to complete the appointment on another platform as I felt like I had been waiting for this appointment my whole life. Overall, I would recommend Psychiatry UK to friends and family if they needed an assessment.

I was so worried about this referral and my assessment. It had been a long personal journey to even visit my GP, (who was wonderful) and to then take to the next stage to have this assessment. On the day my heart was racing and my voice wobbly, I'm 60 and had to open up about so many difficulties past and current. The Dr. was so understanding, she gave me time and checked that I was OK to continue. She advised me of what was to happen and the next steps. The service is excellent, and I would recommend them to you.

My experience with Psychiatry UK was so positive. I was seen much quicker than expected, which is a new experience for me, usually on waiting lists for months on end. The staff i interacted with were so wonderful and knowledgeable, i always felt that i was in safe hands with them and they were so supportive in my diagnosis and throughout my treatment. I regularly contacted my prescriber for advice, i often just wanted reassurance and Lisa was wonderful (nothing was ever treated as silly or a waste of her time). Overall i have been immensely happy with titration, experiencing little to no side effects, I didn't realise how much of a struggle my life was before i started taking it. Although i feel there may still be improvements i could make to aid in my treatment of ADHD, this medication has really changed my life and enabled me to succeed with university so far! I would definitely recommend this service if you are nervous about taking medication (which i really was)!

I had a small issue regarding communication with the first Doctor I was seeing. But when my concerns were raised, they were dealt with adequately and within good time. Since then, communication, information shared, concerns, or anything required, has been tended to straight away and with plenty of information.

I had my assessment with Dr Soumaya Nasser El-Din. Dr Soumaya was so lovely and really set me at my ease. She was very thorough and at the end of our conversation diagnosed me ASD Level 1. She explained the levels and also how I can get help and support in the future. I would recommend her and Psychiatry-UK unhesitatingly.

0verall it was really great. My prescriber responded to all my questions in a great detail and was patient in explaining things I didn't understand. They responded in great time as well, listened and checked up on my concerns that I shared. However, sometimes I would have liked the option of a phone call because I felt like I could have explained certain things better that way.

Only downside to doing it online is a lot of sending messages back and forth over days, sometimes a phone call would be quicker and easier.
