A few months ago I had a tonsillectomy at a private hospital but unfortunately 2 weeks after the operation I had a haemorrhage from my throat and was losing a lot of blood. I was rushed to emergency surgery in A&E (in the middle of the night) at my local NHS hospital. Mr Veer was professional and reassuring by introducing himself and explaining that they would do all they could to stem the bleeding. The following morning when I woke up on the ward Mr Veer came to see me to check how I was doing. He was very accommodating in explaining the procedure (he had cauterised the site and I had a blood transfusion) and what had occurred in addition to answering the numerous questions I had. I did have to stay in hospital a further day but on the morning of my departure once again he came to examine my throat but also to see how I was doing and answer any questions. I highly recommend him as a surgeon and a specialist - I could not have asked for better care and am very grateful as without his professionalism and knowledge I would have bled to death. I also think that it made a huge difference that Mr Veer took the time to explain things to me and answer my questions as without him being so communicative I would have felt a lot more distressed and would have found the whole experience very traumatic. I believe that he goes above and beyond the care and professionalism that is expected and am relieved for other patients that a doctor of his calibre is out there!
