From the consultation, procedure and after care i received, including conversations with his extremely efficient and helpful PA Anna everything was perfect. I would thoroughly recommend Mr. Richard Scawn. I had a BCC on my lower eyelid which was removed by a Mohs dermatologist, and Mr. Scawn carried out a reconstruction of the resulting defect. I was totally put at my ease and the procedure was painless under local anaesthetic. Five weeks, later at final follow up at The Chiltern Hospital, one cannot even see where the surgery was carried out. There was a concern that because the BCC was on the edge of the lacrimal system of the eye, I could be left with a watery eye. However, at the time of surgery Mr. Scawn put in a little stent to keep patency and five weeks later it has been removed and I have no watery eye at all. I am so pleased with the cosmetic and functional result and cannot thank Mr. Scawn enough for all his expertise and kindness.

Richard Scawn corrected the ptosis in my left eye. I now have improved vision and my eyes look the same instead of having a very droopy left eye lid. The operation was quick and the aftercare just what I would have hoped for. All the staff were kind and helpful and made the experience as pleasant as it could be.

I did a lot of research on surgeons to perform my ptosis repair surgery before deciding on Mr Scawn and I am so pleased I chose him. He is friendly, reassuring and professional and the result of my surgery is far beyond my expectations. It is perfect and I am so happy with how it looks. The operation, performed under local anaesthetic was pain free and bruising and swelling afterwards was minimal. I would strongly recommend Mr Scawn. I also found his PA, Anna, to be be very efficient and responsive.

From the first moment of contacting his PA Anna, through to the removal of stitches everything went wonderfully well. I had both upper and lower blepharoplasty on a Friday morning and was home by late afternoon. Initially of course I was black and blue, but I followed Richard’s advice and iced every hour or so for the first 3 days, and within 10 days was back seeing clients, albeit with glasses on trying to hide stitches. I’m now 13 days in and the swelling is almost completely gone and the stitches are out which makes it all look a lot better. Definitely glad I did my research and chose to go with Richard.

I visited Mr Scawn for an upper blepharoplasty at The Chiltern Hospital. He was professional, approachable and thorough, from the initial consultation to the post op review. I knew I could confidently trust his judgement and expertise, and I am delighted with the results of my surgery. The level of care I received from Mr Scawn, his nursing team and his PA, Anna, has been outstanding. I can highly recommend Mr Scawn. His skill as an oculoplastic surgeon is remarkable, and I would be so pleased to be in his care if any future procedures were required.

I recently underwent a minor yet delicate eyelid procedure performed by Mr. Scawn, and I cannot express my gratitude and admiration enough. From the outset, he was exceptionally professional, patient, and deeply reassuring. What makes this experience all the more remarkable is that three other respected surgeons had previously advised that the procedure was either too complex or not feasible and would likely leave me with a more significant scar. That has not been the case. I am now well into the healing phase and couldn’t be more delighted with the result. Travelling from Cornwall for each appointment, the 12-hour round trip was absolutely worth it.

I’ve been struggling with health issues for almost 20 years now, even something as serious as cancer, so I’ve come across many doctors and I can confidently say, Richard is by far the best I have ever encountered. Not only is Richard an absolutely brilliant doctor and I am so happy with all the results I’ve had, he is also so available, so caring and just an incredible human being, who was born to do what he does. I went around in circles for many months before I first met Richard, with a number of different eye doctors, none who really listened to me and all who missed my dry eye that was contributing to everything. Richard listened and had me better in two weeks. Then with a recent flare up, even abroad Richard replied straight away, so we could get a hold of the situation ASAP, and again, two weeks later, even with a small surgery involved, I’m essentially better.
