I had my hip replaced end of April and the operation was successful . I was well looked after by Mr Hawar Akrawi and his team who made me feel comfortable and safe. The after care on ward 3c was amazing all the staff were so helpful and caring .Thankyou for making my life so much better !

As soon as I was under the care of Mr Akrawi, I knew I was in great hands. Had a serious knee dislocation and some cartilage damage. He went in and repaired it all within 2 days of my first consultation with him. 6 weeks post op I had pretty much full mobility in my right knee, and could return to every day tasks such as work and driving. It’s now been 3 months and you wouldn’t even realise I even had anything wrong with my knee.
Cant thank him enough!

After dislocating and fracturing my ankle I was treated by mr akrawi. My fracture was severe with 15+ breaks to the bones-my surgery was dealt with quickly and an amazing amount of metal work was used to repair the breaks. At my 2 week appointment I was shown the X-ray and my bones are healing well and lined up perfectly so thank you for doing such an amazing job.

I have had an outstanding experience with the Chapel Allerton Hospital. Dr Hawar Akrawi is an excellent surgeon, and the staff was always helpful and kind. Dr Akrawi is very knowledgeable and made sure I understood the procedure before surgery. After surgery he came to check on me and showed me the images of the job he had done. I felt confident and safe in his skills and my knee is in great shape, I am very happy with his work.

I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty interest in Knee Reconstruction, Joint Preservation and knee Arthroplasty Surgery. I am British trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine, Diseases of the knee and Joint Arthroplasty at the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre. During this year, I spent time gaining advanced training in performing a variety of reconstructive knee procedures under the tutelage of A/Prof Leo Pinczewski in one of the major orthopaedic and sports medicine practices in Australia.
My special expertise is in adult and paediatric ACL reconstruction, Patella instability, realignment (osteotomy) procedures around the knee, Cartilage Regeneration and sports knee injuries and robotic assisted replacement in young and active patients.
I am also passionate about trauma surgery, I have completed masters degree in trauma sciences and spent 6 years training in major trauma centres managing complex knee injuries.
