I REASENTLEY HAD A TKR AND FROM THE VERY FIRST MEETING MR AKRAWI WAS EXCELLANT,HE EXPLAINED IN DETAIL WHAT THE PROCEDURE WOULD ENTAIL AND WHAT I COULD EXPECT AFTER THE OPP, HE WAS FRIENDLY AND LISTENED TO ANY QUESTIONS I HAD.MR AKRAWI IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY TALANTED SURGEON,THE NURSE WHO TOOK MY DRESSING OFF SAID SHE HAD NEVER SEEN SUCH A CLEAN AND NEAT CLOSURE OF THE WOUND! IF I AM UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO HAVE ANOTHER OPPERATION IN THE FUTURE I HOPE ITS MR AKRAWI WHO PERFORMS IT!

Mr Akrawi was a fantastic doctor right from the beginning - he made sure to explain the procedure in great detail all while me making me feel completely at ease for the upcoming surgery through his in-depth knowledge and excellent bedside manner. He came to speak to me as soon as possible after the surgery, while showing me the pictures of what he did during the surgery and even allowed me to take home a copy too! All in all he is an amazing dr who is prepared to listen to all concerns and questions you have and I simply cannot recommend him enough. Thank you for everything you've done to get me back playing rugby again!

From my first visit with Mr Akrawi i have always found him to be kind , considerate, understanding, and a very good listener. He explain's ever thing he is going to do before he does it and takes the time to make sure you fully understand what is going to happen. I felt safe,relaxed and very confidant with the treatment i have received. Nothing is too much trouble.

I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty interest in Knee Reconstruction, Joint Preservation and knee Arthroplasty Surgery. I am British trained Orthopaedic Surgeon who completed advanced fellowship training in Sports Medicine, Diseases of the knee and Joint Arthroplasty at the prestigious North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre. During this year, I spent time gaining advanced training in performing a variety of reconstructive knee procedures under the tutelage of A/Prof Leo Pinczewski in one of the major orthopaedic and sports medicine practices in Australia.
My special expertise is in adult and paediatric ACL reconstruction, Patella instability, realignment (osteotomy) procedures around the knee, Cartilage Regeneration and sports knee injuries and robotic assisted replacement in young and active patients.
I am also passionate about trauma surgery, I have completed masters degree in trauma sciences and spent 6 years training in major trauma centres managing complex knee injuries.
